However, I think that GOG could put some money where their ideals are at and sponsor a couple third-party clients. It wouldn't take much - on the order of 1k/month spread across different clients.
This would signal to customers that GOG is committed to user-freedom and reinforce their stances [External Link] on "Owning the things you buy" and "... freedom of choice and a hassle-free experience."
Linux support would just be a bonus.

Quoting: itscalledrealityReally, third party clients are more in the spirit of GOG than an official client would be.I like this line of reasoning, and to GOG's credit they have what looks like decent documentation [External Link].

I dont really care about Destiny 2, but more games on Linux is a good thing, so I did my part and demanded they add GNU+Linux+SteamDeck support in all CAPS. j/k no caps, voice added.

XeSS is a sweet name, good job whoever came up with that. (I'm choosing to pronounce it as 'excess').
I think the price may be okay given good driver support, I'll keep an eye out for benchmarks.

For what its worth, I was playing Lego LOTR with GE-Proton today. I'll have to try that out on the deck. The Hobbit, although highly rated is apparently unfinished. Just a warning if you're expecting an ending like in the book.

Edit: Demon Souls!

Quoting: EhvisWhat was actually good on PS3? Not that I'm likely to play it since I don't really have any nostalgia for this machine, but I'm curious because this seems to be a big hole in my game knowledge.I never got around to trying Killzone 2, which was an exclusive. Looked good though.
Edit: Demon Souls!

Wine may not be an emulator but it is excellent. I see two star citizen bug fixes, maybe one day I'll actually play it. I'll have to check out Argentum, haven't heard of it. Thanks for reporting, Liam.
Initial thoughts on the HP Dev One laptop with Pop!_OS

I bet it would play games with a minimum recommended GPU card size of 1GB.
I'm wondering if it would play something like Monster Hunter World (2GB graphics minimum recommended), No Mans Sky (2GB), Witcher 3 (2GB), Red Dead Redemption 2 (2 or 3 GB), even Elden Ring (3 or 4 GB).
Its a very nice looking device. I hope they bring coreboot to it.
Thanks for the review!

Except playing the latest games at 1080p, although it does quite well at lower resolutions. It’s a powerhouse when it comes to the CPU but not the GPU.Just curious what games you tested.

I currently have an all-amd dell G5 SE for home use thats still under warranty and spends a lot of time in the shop. It likes to self-combust (overheat), I'll probably sell it when i get the chance.

Quoting: Free_gamerAll in all it's kinda a better experience than the XPS 13-9360 that I had before (Dell basically switched out the whole computer, twice). Its testimonial that lines up with my experience. Ive used a zbook g3 for work, but i wasnt allowed to open up. It performed well (xeon, nvidia, windows).
Though I can't say if this is also true for other models/product lines besides Zbooks.

Quoting: Free_gamerIt'looks pretty much 1:1 to my Zbook Firefly14 G7 (minor differences with speaker grills, hp logo, finger print reader, webcam array) and that has an aluminium body. So I'd guess this one will also be build out of aluminium. It has me interested. Hows the Zbook been, how would you rate its repairability?

I wonder if the case is made of metal or plastic. Looks nice and very cool to see more companies preinstalling a linux distro.
