Do note that end-game Albion is basically DOTA in disguise. If you don't like MOBAs, you will more than likely despise Albion beyond a certain point.

I played a prototype of this ages ago, was damn good fun. Glad the full version finally landed!

The MMO Albion Online is launching on Steam on May 16th

I bailed on this game as soon as I realized it was just DOTA with more steps. With that on top of them requiring you to repurchase the game to get it on Steam, I doubt I'll be returning.

The MMO Albion Online is heading to Steam

Quoting: LakortaI can actually understand this decision from a company's perspective since nothing stops people from just giving the Steam key to someone else since they already own a copy of the game.
A key for the client won't do you much good without an Albion account to actually play with.

It's a bit rough around the edges, and considerably more "hardcore" than most MMOs, but it's a damn fine game. It scratches an itch I've had since Ultima Online.

If you were let down by Shroud of the Avatar, I cannot recommend this game enough.

Looks remarkably similar to Software Inc. Not sure if you've played that one, but if you have could you highlight some key differences?

EDIT: Went ahead and bought it. It's a lot more polished than Software Inc, but unfortunately a LOT more shallow as well. It's also a grievous resource hog and starts to crawl once you've got more than a couple dozen employees.

Microsoft is rumoured to be looking to buy Valve, EA and others

Quoting: ScooptaIf MS bought Bethesda I'd be so sad. I'm still waiting for my Linux port of Skyrim.
Honestly, the chances of getting Linux ports of Bethesda games would probably be higher if they were owned by Microsoft. Zenimax/Bethesda hates Linux.

Remember when id software used to not only port their games, but open-source their engines as well?
