Talking Point: how about a monthly Steam Game Pass from Valve

Personally I prefer the traditional model.
I think the subscription model may be attractive to new people to Steam or to people who want to play the newest and hottest AAA titles (given that the subscription includes them). Though, in case of people like me, who have a huge backlog (my Steam library has over 1000 games) and don't really care about the newest hit titles, it doesn't seem all that interesting.
For me Humble Choice is the best option. I get plenty of games every month and, if I don't like a game or I already own it, I can just send a gift link to one of my friends.

HoMM 2 was the first game in the series I ever played, and I loved it.
Being an old school gamer I'm genuinely happy that there are so many open source projects keeping these classic games alive today.

Proton GE gets some big updates but you may need to remove old Wine prefixes

Great news! Proton GE is very important for many games.
Actually, I think the one thing that the Compatibility tab lacks is the ability to remove/reinstall prefix directly from Steam. Hopefully it will be added sometime in the future.

I actually had this game on my wishlist, because the idea seemed interesting, but, luckily, I didn't get it.
Given this news what I'm going to do is just delete it from the wishlist and forget all about it.

I really enjoyed the demo, despite it being very short.
While it seems like a typical dystopian future story, the way you "hack" into memories using keywords is very interesting.
It's already on my wishlist.

Looks like something I would definitely like playing. Thanks for the recommendation!
Regarding the multi-monitor problem, I experienced it with some old games and I was able to solve it using Lutris.
If you go to Configure -> System options -> Turns off monitors except and choose the monitor you want to use for the game, it will run correctly in full-screen mode using only that monitor.
I used this configuration to play Wizardry VII (yes, I'm an old school guy, heh).

Seems like a nice adventure game. The visual style reminds me of Broken Age, a Double Fine adventure game I enjoyed a lot.
I played the demo of Mutropolis last year, but it was so short that I couldn't form a proper opinion about it.
Anyway, it's already on my wishlist.

The Linux distribution I was most thankful for in 2020 - EndeavourOS

I really loved Antergos, and it was a pity they had to abandon it.
After finally trying EndeavourOS this year, though, I can say that it's currently one of my favourite Linux distributions for advanced users (along with Fedora).
I use it with Xfce as desktop environment, and generally I'm very happy. The only problem is HiDPI support. To the credit of Xfce team it got a lot better this year, but it's still not as seamless as in GNOME: there are some things you have to tweak yourself.

1) There is a lot more info out there to help you solve whatever problem you may face (e.g. AskUbuntu is a great resource that helped me a lot in my early Linux days).
2) Almost everything a beginner level user may need is already in the official repositories.
3) Most of the game developers or porters (Feral Interactive, for instance) ONLY officially support Ubuntu. So, if you have any problem running a game, you can expect to be able to contact them and get a response.
Don't take me wrong: I love EndeavourOS, but I won't recommend it to new users. I showed it to my wife, who has been using Linux for several years now, and she prefers to stick with Linux Mint and Ubuntu.

Quoting: RoosterSo why would you say Ubuntu is safer choice for new users than Endeavour or Endless OS?Most of my reasons are actually the same Liam mentioned in this article:

I agree with Liam's recommendations for newer Linux users. Ubuntu is a pretty safe choice.
For the experienced users, though, the choice of OS or DE is more a matter of personal preference.
E.g. I use Ubuntu and EndeavourOS on my main gaming PC, but I also use plenty of other operating systems, like Solus or Fedora, and I wouldn't deem any of them as not gaming-capable. If you keep your drivers up-to-date, you are good to go.
Still, there are always some games that don't run properly on one OS, but work perfectly on some others (e.g. some Total War games). That's the reason why I have two operating systems installed on my gaming PC.
