Two Point Campus is coming to Linux from the Two Point Hospital team

Great news!
I was a bit disappointed not to see the Linux (well, SteamOS) icon when they first launched the Two Point Campus Steam page. But now I'm happy to know Two Point Studios are still supporting Linux.

What we want to see from the possible SteamPal handheld from Valve

Quoting: 1xok
Quoting: NoStI think Valve will need to whitelist a lot more games for Proton before releasing the device.
You can't expect the users of a portable console to be tinkering with the Proton version or command options.
I hope they are already working on it. Otherwise it could become a source of many negative reviews.

Most games have to be ported for it in the same way as for other consoles, I think. But I also think that the developments of the last five years have made that much easier. Much easier than porting a game like The Witcher 3 to the Switch, for example.

I think the whole purpose of Steam Proton was not to force the developers to port their games to a specific platform (Linux in this case). It's supposed to be a "magic" tool that just makes everything work with a couple of clicks.
Otherwise Steam Pal would lose one of its strongest potential selling points, which is having access to your (almost) entire Steam library.
I believe that's the purpose of the whitelist system. Steam already knows which version of Steam Proton you need to run a specific game and automatically selects it when installing the game.
The problem is that the whitelist is currently very short (less than 100 titles, I think). That's why it needs to be expanded.

Widelands, the Settlers II inspired strategy game has a 1.0 Release Candidate out

The Settlers II was one of my favourite strategy games along with Heroes of Might and Magic series, so I'm happy there is an open source game that continues in the same vein.

Hollow Knight gets Vulkan on Linux in the new update out now

To be honest, it already worked perfectly fine with OpenGL on my humble laptop with Intel integrated graphics. But it's still nice to see them adding the Vulkan support as Vulkan is the future, and it probably means the sequel will come with Vulkan on Linux by default.
I love Hollow Knight, and I'm really glad they are still supporting it with updates.

Judge upholds $4M damages in the patent case against Valve for the Steam Controller

I don't think this will affect Valve to a great extent. Four million dollars is not a serious sum for them, and, as I understand it, they didn't really have any plans to continue the development of Steam Controller.
It's a shame you can have a patent on something so minor (in my opinion), but the current patent system works like this...

First-person grid-based dungeon crawler Inferno - Beyond the 7th Circle out now
2 June 2021 at 7:05 am UTC

This one is already on my wishlist.
While I love fantasy, it's still nice to have a dungeon crawler with a different theme once in a while. And dungeon crawler + horror seems like a very interesting mix.

I played the demo during the last Steam Game Festival and I rather liked it. It has a certain Maniac Mansion/Day of the Tentacle vibe.

Talking Point: how about a monthly Steam Game Pass from Valve

Personally I prefer the traditional model.
I think the subscription model may be attractive to new people to Steam or to people who want to play the newest and hottest AAA titles (given that the subscription includes them). Though, in case of people like me, who have a huge backlog (my Steam library has over 1000 games) and don't really care about the newest hit titles, it doesn't seem all that interesting.
For me Humble Choice is the best option. I get plenty of games every month and, if I don't like a game or I already own it, I can just send a gift link to one of my friends.

If you love Heroes of Might and Magic II do check out this open source reimplementation

HoMM 2 was the first game in the series I ever played, and I loved it.
Being an old school gamer I'm genuinely happy that there are so many open source projects keeping these classic games alive today.
