Wine Staging 2.15 released with more Direct3D 11 improvements

Since there are several comments about the difficulties in setting up Wine prefixes, I'll just do a quick plug for my own little Wine management tool, Vineyard [External Link]. With that installed, you can just double click a Windows executable, select which existing prefix to use or select "New prefix" (and if needed, select the Windows version to emulate, the virtual desktop size to use and which Winetricks packages to install) and click run; easy-peasy. It also comes with an indicator showing the running Wine applications (if they're launched through Vineyard) so you can check their output and it'll automatically suggest which Winetricks packages you might need to install based on the error messages.

Excellent! This is one of those games I've been pretty interested in but had to stop reading and watching videos about out of just too much disappointment in not getting to play it; looks like I will get that chance soon after all! :D

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoCan someone make a big game like Fallout 4 with this engine?...
How big can be the maps?
If I remember correctly, you can stream maps in Godot, so it should be possible to create an open-world type game.

Another great review, BTRE! I'm not sure I will pick up the game, but I did enjoy reading your detailed thoughts on it :)

The Darkside Detective, a supernatural point & click adventure is now on Linux

Yay, a short game! :D I'm always happy to see a well-crafted game that clocks in at around 4-8 hours; any longer than that and I'm almost invariably forced to quit it halfway through due to the dreaded "real life".

Tooth And Tail, a new RTS game from Pocketwatch Games looks awesome, confirmed for Linux

Wow, this just oozes character! I do miss a good RTS on Linux but when this arrives I suspect I'll enjoy the narrative and style even more than the actual gameplay, that's how good it looks :D

Machinarium updated to remove Flash, new Linux build is planned too

Great news, but as everyone has already said, the choice of DirectX is really, really odd. They already know they are going to port it to non-DirectX systems and it's a game very suited for mobile - I really can't find any sense in picking DirectX over OpenGL :/

Starbound 1.3 – Spacefarer update is now live

Liam, have you tried the update yet? I just bought it but it crashes immediately for me on Arch, so I'm curious as to whether you're seeing the same thing.

Could Ash of Gods fill the void The Banner Saga left for Linux?

It looks and sounds gorgeous but their tiers are a bit hard to decipher. I'm fairly interested in getting the soundtrack but according to the Kickstarter tier list on the right, that's a $65 price tag; according to their own tier overview graphics, it's $45 and yet again, it's listed as a $10 digital add-on with no mention of how to get/add it. This confusion can't be helping them reach their goal :/

Blasphemous is a promising looking dark and brutal non-linear platformer

Wow, that looks insanely pretty! Reminds me of Shadow of the Beast mixed with Castlevania (and a bit of Slain) and the fluid movement of Prince of Persia. I may just have to back this one!
