Awesome, I've been looking at this ever since it came out, awaiting a Linux release. Bought it last night, ofc including the DLC, and so far I'm really enjoying it.
The art style is absolutely stunning.

Changing your country on Steam has been made harder to battle VPNs

I'm actually in favour of such a solution, as opposed to the blanket blocking of VPNs, which is how it's done by Netflix and their ilk. There it doesn't matter if you're VPN-ing from your resident country, you're still blocked on general principle.
That said, there may be issues of infrastructure and delivery (I can imagine some) that could potentially make this issue a bit more tricky to work around for a streaming service than a storefront.

Dishonored DLC: The Knife of Dunwall, and Baldur's Gate II Enhanced Edition.
For anyone trying Dishonored, and experiencing a slideshow, these launch parameters made it run smooth for me:
EDIT: Depending on your Proton version, forcing D9VK may not me necessary, but I put it in just in case

They don't give a hoot if your system get's bloated; they don't care about you having to run multiple applications and DRMs, or several points of failure, or making it cumbersome for the end user. Heck, [they] routinely thrown in Denuvo of all things, on top of the multiple accounts required: The Premiere DRM for making your game run at half the performance it otherwise would, because it's basically running the game inside a VM which runs inside a DRM container while also pinging their servers every 30 seconds AND having root access to your computer. You paid the entry fee to lease the game for an unspecified amount of time. They don't care beyond that ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ You likely "accepted" this when "accepting" the EULA, which for some reason remain "legal" even though they're utter rubbish.

Quoting: MalI'm very happy EA made the move. But I'm still not sold on games that require origin. I'm uneasy about having two DRMs running at the same time. It's just the same bogus reasoning that makes Uplay(?) "required" for Ubisoft games. They have invested money in their store, and they want numbers on it. Every time you have to launch Origin, they get a +1 use/login, which gives them a +1 in their "Origin is a success, no matter what anyone else may think" column. It's "How To Corporation 101."
I would see the ability to redeem your game on both services as added value. Say, if one service is down (or whatever) now you have the other (even if cloud save is separated). But requiring both at the same time? Unnecessary hussle, multiplication of failure points, and if everything works then bloatware for the end user.

Also, one of the best things about playing a game a year+ post release is that you'll likely have all the DLC (so that you can finish the game in one go) and that the devs have fixed all the bugs they were allowed time to deal with.

Quoting: x_wingLinux support --> I buy on releaseI'm in the same boat. I bought Tomb Raider at full price when Feral released it. If I buy Windows (Proton) games, it's very, very rarely for anything more than a steep discount. Which is what I do for most "AAA" games. It must be a really good game indeed, preferably with no DLC planned, for me to jump on it (like God of War (4) on PS4). Having a backlog helps too, though.
No Linux support --> I buy when the game is for about 20-30% of the release price

As for the proprietary drivers, the experience has been that the GPU folding core has not worked with the open source drivers. I have not seen any info that situation has changed. 🤷🏻♂️
It gave me the "usual" ones with python-gtk, dh-python and python-support. It would kinda install anyway (--force-[option]), but didn't run.
Though the .deb with stripped dependencies linked by Mohandevir did the trick :)

Quoting: dubigrasuYeah I went through all that, but in my case it wasn't a configuration problem (I have now the same config as before), the GPU/CL were recognized and working apparently OK, but only briefly, with the work consistently rejected as faulty. Only with the AMDGPU-PRO the work started to be accepted. It seems to be the case for me too. It's recognised, and show up in the webview and Control, but doesn't get/do any work. Too bad it doesn't work with the OSS drivers. Wasn't really much answer as to why from the F@H forum either
No idea about FAHControl, it worked OK for me.
Does it give any errors in console?

How did you manage to get FAHControl running? I can't, for the life of me, get it working. Even with --force-dependa and --force-all

Quoting: dubigrasuTalking about AMD, I had a hell of a time trying to get my AMD RX 590 to start folding. Tried various CL implementations (and they all seemed to work according to some tests) but none actually worked for FAH until I caved in and installed AMDGPU-PRO. I'm now firing on all cylinders (both CPU and GPU) for a couple of days and I might even keep AMDGPU-PRO installed, since I don't see much difference in performance at least for Vulkan, which I mainly use.I (think I) got my GPU to work (or at least show up in F@H webview), on my laptop at least. 2015 Macbook with the AMD M370X GPU. Running latest kernel and the kernel-proivded AMD drivers.
Also, thanks to this folding I discovered that my CPU cooling wasn't as good as I thought, in full load would go up 100 degrees, so I had to reduce the CPU max freq a bit while folding. GPU cooling OTOH is just fine, even at full load.
As suggested by herc:

Enough with the cheapskate FHD 16:9 displays! Please, provide a proper 16:10 or 4:3 screen! This is (presumably) a laptop, made for working on, not a television.
