That games like this are still under copyright protection is simply madness. Current copyright laws do not fit to the modern world!
Beside of this turok was was a great game back in last century when the first 3d hardware came up.

About early access and beta build:
I cannot say I like it, BUT without this option many games would not exist! Small independent development teams don't have the money and manpower to test things on different hardware and software configurations. So if you want a lot of different and sometimes unusual games, you have to live with early access and you should think about supporting a game you like by testing it and give feedback to the developers.
If you just want to be a consumer who pays and plays, just go and buy a gaming console. I for myself sometimes really like it to be a part of the development and I especially like it when developers communicate with their players and take their ideas into account. What I really don't like is closed development without any communication with the gamers using "early access" to sell unfinished crap.

And there are many very advanced mods ( fullconversions too ) for freespace 2. Sadly I got none of them working yet on linux.
Names of known mods:
* Homeworld
* Beyond The Red Line Total Conversion Mod
* Star Wars: The Original Trilogy Mod
* Wings of Dawn
and I bet many more
Some can be found here: http://www.moddb.com/games/freespace-2/mods [External Link]
but there are more

I would really like to see that someone shows us how to easily setup/install all this fun in linux!!

Try the Arctic Freezer A11 and you will have one which fits the wattage and you will not hear anything anymore :D.
The best is, also its not a top blow system you can install it very easy without need to do something under the mainboard.
