Unity Editor Lands An Experimental Build For Game Developers On Linux
27 Aug 2015 at 2:51 am UTC

I do hear about a lot of Unity games with bad performance, but then there are a ton of Unity games. I've played plenty of Unity games that preformed very well (Assault Android Cactus anyone?), it depends on the developer. Hopefully the editor being on Linux will make it that much easier for devs to do some proper bug testing & editing on the platform :)

I took a look at the editor, seems fancy, but probably way over my head. I'll keep toying with Moai for now ^^

Just because you don't like their games doesn't means their aren't good games to other people. No need to be a fanboy.
Again, I'm not saying their games are awful and I'm not saying I didn't have any fun with Dead Island or Dying Light (in which I was quite impressed with the upgrade system, granted now that I've played SoM I wonder if it was a WB initiative). I'm just saying I've always found their games kind of shoddy in some aspects, be it uninspired plots, janky combat, or, my main bugbear, their lack of proper support. Remember how long it took them to fix the broken loot system in DI? People are free to continue buying from them, I just feel like I've seen a pattern that makes me think my money is better spent elsewhere.

Also, I'm confused by your second statement; what am I being a fanboy of? 0.o

Color me shocked :O ... actually, no, color me not at all surprised (it's a shade of orange-red, btw  ) Seriously, Techland has only ever proven to be a sub-par game developer at best; this is not to say everything they make is completely awful, but they never seem to care about getting higher acclaim than "Meh, it's okay, with some caveats". Sure, they've got a couple popular zombie games, but am I the only one who thinks it's just because it's a functional, AAA-ish, open world zombie game, and that's appealing to a lot of people regardless of quality? (Though I'll admit that they did somewhat better with Dying Light over it's predecessor) I'm just done with Techland, it's too frustrating. I'll eagerly await Dead Island 2; which was responsibly taken from Techland and given to Yeager.

*Deep breaths* Okay, well I'm good now, but I'll leave you with an EC video about a game I had no idea Techland made, so I got a hearty laugh when the name came up :D

I'd be good hunter 'cos I'm a total coward; I take to the shadows and take enemies out one at a time like clockwork whenever given the chance. Let them amass in hordes, I'll lure them out one by one until a lone monster is left to their lonesome, wishing they were somewhere else.

Fair? No. Effective? Certainly

Star Wars Knights Of The Old Republic II Released For Linux, With Preview Port Report

Erm, welp, not what I was hoping for, but still good news. Though I wonder, how in the dark would one be if they haven't played the first?

Not a big star wars fan, but maybe I'll try it out sometime. I guess I'll continue to watch Shadow of Mordor's Steamdb entry until then :/

Tacoma From The 'Gone Home' Developers Is Looking Good

Gone Home was a really good experience for me; my spirits only slightly dampened after visiting the forum for it on Steam :/ I can totally dig a good sci-fi game, so I'm setting my phasers to hype :D

Official Trailer Released For Upcoming Stealth Game 'Twin Souls: The Path of Shadows'

The architecture makes it look like an alternate Shadow Warrior where Wang's a little gun shy :P

Seriously though, it'd be nice for another good Stealth game on Linux :)

Fallout 4 And Steam Machine Release Dates A Coincidence? Yes, Probably.

Stop the presses! 11-10-2015? 1+1+1+1 = 4 and 5 - 2 = 3! That could only mean one thing: I can do basic addition and subtraction, mom's gonna be so proud :P

Seriously though, I doubt it, but it'd be cool. Even if it's become jarringly clear how stiff Bethesda's characters tend to be, expression wise.

Shadow Warrior 2 Announced, Seems to Be Getting a Linux port

Excited, but as someone who never cared for the Borderlands/Dead Islands games I can't say the co-op aspect thrills me, hopefully the single player game won't suffer.
