Thought I'd chime in since the developer contacted me prior to release, it sounds like the testers did a great job! In his e-mail he said "Also thanks again for helping us find Linux testers. We never had such a great and thorough bunch of testers : )"
Definitely not the first time I've read a statement like that by a developer, but I never get tired of seeing it ^_^

Yep, the game doesn't start for me anymore, just hangs at the black loading screen. I verified the game files, I even reinstalled the entire game. I guess I'll poke Techland and cry in the corner ;-;

Roguelike Expedition Simulation 'Curious Expedition' Released In Early Access On Steam

I come here to see good discussion about video games, not to play in some weird shirts vs. skins 'debate' hovering around video games ;)
Anyhoo, I'll gladly check out anything by Yager ^^ And I've been itching for a new Roguelike. The female explorers is a nice touch, my friend seemed especially interested in getting to play as Amelia Earhart. However, Early Access means this one will probably be sitting in my wishlist until full release :P

Quoting: tuubiIn the FAQ it says: "If funded, Yooka-Laylee will be released for Windows, Mac, Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Wii U." But Linux is clearly included in the main text, so this seems to be just a simple oversight. One of you backers might want to get them to fix this anyway. Personally I won't back the project, but probably will buy it when it's released.Messaged and fixed :D Also, closing in on 2 million bucks! I gotta learn how to make games, there's all kinds of stuff I'd like to revive :p

Jesus; over a million dollars on there first day :O These guys seem like the real deal, here's hoping the Linux version gets good performance, considering the FAQ mentions they're using Unity. I was hoping it would be UE4 or something, but they seem pretty capable regardless.

Storm United, A Beautiful New FPS Now In Early Access, We Have Keys

The aesthetic reminds me a lot of Halo, so it gives me all kinds of warm nostalgia fuzzies :P The game feels nice, but I'll reserve judgement until I can actual play with people. But while it feels polished, I don't know what the devs are on about with this 'sensation' stuff. There's nothing noteworthy I've seen about the movement system so far, you run, you gun (albeit not at the same time), and you jump. There are plenty of guns which are varied, but only a couple really stood out to me. However, they all feel pretty nice, it's clear a lot of work has gone into it; but I found the melee weapon kind of crap.
The performance seems good for day one of early access. With all setting on high I couldn't get it to drop below 60 FPS on my GTX 760, though I'm sure that'll change when multiplayer action is going on, especially on bigger maps. I mostly played with high textures and medium-low settings (although the game still looks great) and I'd get around 120 FPS when not doing much, but it jumps a lot (mind I still haven't caught it below 60) and there's definitely some stutter, but looks like they're on it [External Link]. And as noted some maps don't work; BP_3 and Showcase crashes for me.
There's a lot of potential here, and the devs sound like they're really dedicated to giving us alt-OSers a good experience. It's too early to tell, but I hope they'll follow through :)

Interstellar Marines FPS Big Update Due This Month, New Online Modes

I'm also hoping for more good shooters, but maybe something a bit more interesting than CoD; I've played enough brown military shooters, thanks. :whistle: (Though I've gotta admit I really like the look of Advanced Warfare)
Interstellar Marines has potential, but the title reflects the games lack of imagination and identity. I'm not saying it has to have in depth lore and story, but they could at least add a bit more personality. Look at TF2, Fistful of Frags, or Chivalry. Admittedly, TF2 has some story going on in the background, but in the game there's no story in any of these, but they each have there own look and feel. This game in comparison looks like they were trying to emulate Halo's ODST marines and ran out of ideas after that :/ But hopefully they'll surprise me before the full release!
