Quoting: melkemindSo, the answer to "what could it mean?" is that Shadow of Mordor will be out soon, and they're just distracting us.That would make a lot of sense, and not just because I want that game yesterday ;)

Unfortunately it looks like our config files are a bit different from our Windows counterparts. There should be a OLGame.ini file you can edit to unlock the framerate. Instead, there's a defaultgame.ini which lacks the option, however you can still edit FOV and such it appears. Will report back later; I was hoping to play at 120/144hz.
Edit: Success! You need to go to /home/[you]/.local/share/Outlast/OLGame/Config and the files are there :) You can find various fixes and tweaks here: http://steamcommunity.com/app/238320/discussions/0/846963710902292389/ [External Link]

Looks like good silly fun, downloading now :)
Also, I noticed on Steam Charts [External Link] that there are currently more players on today than there have been in a year :woot: Although it looks like a pretty major update, so that could account for a good chuck of it, but whatever.

Uh, this is weird. I can't play the trailer, so I went to Youtube, still stuck buffering. I then went to a few other videos that loaded without problem, so I used an add-on to just download it as an mp4. However, when I tried to open it up in VLC it locked up my desktop, so I had to drop to console and kill it. What is this? :dizzy:

Welp, the game is much more playable now. I can get 45 + fps on my GTX 760 at 1080p low settings. Still not ideal, but definitely a significant improvement. I'd dig farther into the game, but I'm a bit too enamored with Hotiline 2 right now :D
