Nightside Is That RTS Game I’ve Been Waiting For On Linux

Love the idea, just watching the video makes me anxious of the 'shadow of war', and the droning machinery doesn't make it any less tense :P However, tense and engaging often sit in the same camp, so count me in!

Do you force anti-aliasing in NVIDIA control panel ? I don't have this game yet but many UE3 games on Linux don't support anti-aliasing at all and I remember Painkiller HD having the exact same bug when trying to enforce it...
just checked, no its turned off in the nvidia control panel , with no option to turn it completely off in the game im still having the issue
Do you have texture sharpening on by chance? That's what caused it for me in the past.

Surreal Platformer Tulpa Now Available On Linux

Ugh, trying not to prejudge it but when the trailer straight out says "Be memorized" I lol'd. Don't get me wrong, amongst my favorite games are some pretty strange games (Hotline Miami, The Swapper, Limbo, etc.), but then there are games like Spate. Games whose worlds feel fairly empty, where it feels like the world is being thought of as you go along; A walking slideshow of unrelated abstract art made to be "Woah"-ed before marching onwards.

Now, if people want to make/play those things, more power to them. However, I find them kind of uninspired (although this game in particular seems to borrow a lot from Limbo, a game that actually has a cohesive world) and not very engaging.

Techland Working On Modding Tools For Dying Light, New Patch Possibly Soon

Quoting: pete910Well the good news is now us AMD GPU guys can play! (Patch 1.4 released today.)

Down side is even on a 290x + 4790k the performance is erm, whats the word... Crap!

Thing is. I not convinced its the GPU/Driver that's at fault.

Edit, They have disabled the steam overlay it seems. No idea what fps is
You sure? It was working for me. But yeah, performance is still pretty bad. I had the sun-shadows off and all setting low/off and mainly hung around 40-50, sometimes it'd reach 70 in small spaces, and a lot of action and it dips below 30 (I have a GTX 760 331 drivers). I'll try it with sun shadows on later (and maybe reducing my FOV from 90, come to think of it), but I don't expect to be dazzled :P

Apotheon 2D Action Platformer Fully Released For Linux
12 Feb 2015 at 3:54 am UTC

Having a ball with it so far; though the performance does seem kinda shaky, I keep getting screen tearing and a bit of stutter in some areas. And while I understand all games, even 2D platformers, are getting more demanding, seems a bit strange on my GTX 760 & i7 4770

That said, the game itself is quite a gem. The combat is responsive and engaging, the visuals are lovely (if not confusing sometimes), and the voice acting is pretty decent. The comparisons to Dark Souls' combat are pretty accurate, but if you want the same challenge I recommend turning up the difficulty, as the regular enemies are pretty doughy :P

I try to buy from Humble when possible; that way I can get a Steam key and a DRM-free build ^^

Techland Working On Modding Tools For Dying Light, New Patch Possibly Soon
10 Feb 2015 at 6:47 pm UTC

Quoting: metcardIf they can get performance on DL to match DI with the most recent patch, then I'm exited. I'm 20 hours in on DL though, so I'm probably close to finishing it.
I have a feeling that Dying Light may be a little more demanding even if they optimize it :P Crossing my fingers regardless though!

Dead Island Patch Released For Linux, Finally Playable (Updated)
9 Feb 2015 at 7:33 pm UTC

Oh man, it's a bit different playing the game with proper loot! And it's running pretty nicely around 120 FPS on my GTX 760, although I noticed the lights flickering (in a graphic bug kind of way) in the first boat house.

My main problem now is that when I increase my FOV it makes the characters blurry when I talk to them, anyone got a fix?

edit: Soooo, turns out I was off. It wasn't the FOV, it was the changes I made to the varlist_dof.src (or something like that) file :P I've finally got the game how I want it :)

Techland See Sense On Dying Light Modding & There's Hope For The Linux Version

Hold on, what about those DMCAs modders received? Who issued them if not Techland?

edit: Oh, right, probably Warner Brothers...

The Witcher 2 Has A New Beta For Linux, The Improvements Are Staggering
29 Jan 2015 at 11:46 am UTC

So I indeed had to restart a couple times, but other than that Witcher 1 runs very well, and I'm really enjoying it. However, I do wish it was a shorter game; I wanna get to the pretty sequel with the refined mechanics :D
