Quoting: SpirimintDoes anybody know if vkBasalt got also activated in Steam with the launch option MANGOHUD=1 ?For vkbasalt you need
ENABLE_VKBASALT=1. Or you can enable Mangohud and Vkbasalt globally on goverlay.

Quoting: rustybroomhandleThat's exactly what intriguis me the most. What is Valve target ?Why We're Doing ItTell me more! Tell me more!
Actually I suspect they just mean what they want to achieve with what they are doing. A piece of this puzzle that is missing for me is with the business side of it. Why is Valve doing this? I can guess, but am bored of that now and would settle for some hard facts.

Since i moved from ubuntu to manjaro i've never look back. Manjaro (specially the testing branch) have fast updates with good stability. Their theming kind grown on me over the time, but i still think they have some homework to do in this department.

I didn't think so many people had a Valve index... My experience with VR is limited to the Gear VR on my S8+, is the experience in a index much diferent ? I always felt some kind of motion sickness on the gearVR after a fill minutes of use, i guess this gaves me a bad impression of VR in general.

Quoting: lejimsterI have been customizing mangohud manually although I should really give this a try. I love ability to have the hud hidden by default and I just use the R_Shift+F12 to toggle it on/off.There's a checkbox "hide" in GOverlay to make the hud hidden by default.
There's an app for that: use GOverlay to help configure MangoHud on Linux

Quoting: heidi.wengerHello! Are you the developer ? Just posted a reply above concerning packaging, is there any plans for such ?Hi heidi.wenger, yes i am. Currently i have no knowledge in flatpacks and snaps, so there're no plans to do it right now. I agree it would be a very cool thing to have Goverlay and Mangohud in a single flatpak, but i would need some help with that.

Quoting: NoStI've been using both MangoHud and GOverlay since they were first released, and they've become indispensable tools for both tweaking the game settings and recording gameplay videos. Thanks for the kind words, i just made a small fix update in 0.3.5. I also have other small projects that doesn't got much attention, but can be usefull to someone.
I'm impressed by the amount of progress both developers have achieved in just a few months.
