Quoting: Guest...First, the people who buy it from the start keep on losing their save games, mods, playstyles and have to re-learn how to play the game every few or so updates. It's frustrating even if the game gets somehow better...
That is really a point. I played 2 playthroughs in Stellaris - a wonderful game. In the first run, I fucked up in midgame because I did not know enough about how the game works.

After that, in my second run, I had to learn so much things new because of a big update...

Today, I really ask myself, if I want to play another round. Since my last play, they changed so much and also I have to learn new things as I want to play the lithoids DLC I bought months ago.
But I am really not sure, if I want to learn the game again.

Seems like game store GOG is doing well overall in their new figures with revenue up 114%

Quoting: kaimanAs long as GOG remains the underdog, my support goes (mostly) to them. ...
What "underdog" are you talking about? The "underdog" with these billionaires at the top?

Quoting: AkonadySo what really is the graphics about in this game?
Looks much better with this mod IMHO:

I used this for a while, though I was getting some graphical glitches, so I turned it back off. Also didn't like the Troll skins.
I did not see any glitches yet.
But I also disliked the troll look. But deleting the 2 files with the new troll textures makes the trolls look like vanilla again.

Quoting: TcheyWhy english speakers name things (and people...) "Dick" with all the side-meanings associated ?
It is kinda your problem, what you think first when you read the word "Dick", isn't it?

I would need a new graphics card before it makes sense to save the money for VR.

So I would really like to play that, but when will there be actual gfx cards for a reasonable price?

The open source Epic Games client for Linux, Heroic Games Launcher can now run offline

Quoting: BumadarI guess creating that epic account and simply adding the free game every Thursday is about to pay off
I kinda stopped that long ago.
I give AF about that EPIC store. I shortly bought Surviving Mars on Steam even though I own it on EPIC.

I just do not want them to get something from me, at may it be playtime they can show off.
When they start supporting Linux, I`ll be back.

But do not get me wrong, it is awesome that people create software in their spare time to let Linuxers use EPIC.
It is just not attractive to me, as I prefere to spend money on Steam instead of playing free on EPIC. Of course it is also more convenient for me to just click play.
