Quoting: TobyHaynesMy youngest son runs around with various Legendary weapons mounted on the side of his behemoth vehicles and has a great time. Multiplayer appears to be "non-toxic" too - people get on and play.Nice to here. I will tell my son about the game. Perhaps he likes it and can play it with his friends. The only problem may be, that his friends actually can never play something else than only fortnite
BATTLETECH for Linux updated, releases Flashpoint expansion – some thoughts

I can understand, that backers waiting for Linux-Releases, are disappointed. But to be honest, I would never back a Game. I know that 90% of software projects run into delays and other problems. And then they will never prioritize the OS with the 2% market share. Even if the backers from Linux are more than the 2%.
So it is always a high risk and the chance for disappointment is IMHO more then 80% and that even, if the devs want to fulfill there promises.

Quoting: Guest... Dramatic perhaps, but we shouldn't forget just how low priority GNU/Linux has been....I am sure, there priority was about 2% in relation to the Windows release. And that is understandable. If they had problems and there plan was to optimistic, they must prioritize (in fact, they must do this all the time). It is that simple. Normal project business.

It is Cross-Plattform and supports Linux. That is great!
The only thing that really makes me worry is the "Season Pass Thing" and the DLCs that short after release.

Hi Liam,
is the game Crossplattform Multiplayer?
It seems it is some "pay to win title", or do I get this wrong?
Best regards

Total War: WARHAMMER II released for Linux, port from Feral Interactive

I would prefer running it with proton and Cross Plattform.
A port or natural game is better, but not if cross plattform is missing.
For me, that's a big issue.
Not Ferals fault, maybe and sad for Feral themselves off course.
I hope they get more partnerships with game devs. Actually they are really dependend on the TW and TR series :-(
It is like: "Try a new OS, it gives you problems when you want to play with others on Win. But no matter, you can Dualboot and maintain two systems in your rare spare time...."

Quoting: MohandevirNo! It is not free. It costs them time. And if you have friends that do not care for IT and just want to play, they just won't switch to Win. And the argument: "Multiplayer-Games on Linux can often not be played with friends on Windows. So please install Linux!" is really weak, isn't it?Quoting: raverrebelEven if I would've wanted the game, the missing crossplay would hinder me from playing with friends.. Really hope that crossplay will be implemented for future ports (I know it's hard and sometimes impossible).Just tell them that it's a good reason to try Linux! It's free! Lol!

In my case I have no chance for thinks like that :-(
I hear answers like "Buy a Windows-Licence, it's just 8-10 €"!
So for me it is really shit, that there is no cross plattform multiplayer. I think i won't buy it.

Quoting: GuestGood Luck!Quoting: GuestUhm.. Then i'll force my friends to install Linux if they want to play with me, i'm just sick of windows.Quoting: GuestIt will have cross-play??Probably not. None of the Total War games have, as far as I'm aware, so I wouldn't expect it here. A pity really, but not a whole lot Feral can do about it either.

My son bought the game on GOG. It didn`t even start. So he refunded it.
In my opinion it doesn't matter if it is on GOG...

Most of my friends don't want to use Linux. I will not get them on the nerves. I will just not buy this game...
BTW it is not a good marketing for Linux, to tell them what does not work.

Quoting: GuestSad, really.Hmm, that leads me to the question, if it would work with proton and CoH2. I would like to play CoH2 with a friend of mine, but he is on Windows....
I have no cross platform multiplayer on my CoH2 Linux native build but i have it with the CoH1, with no native version under proton !

Quoting: daishordAnd is it possible to support the devs without paying a Steam tax? Just when there are real alternatives to buy PCs without the MS tax.Without Steam and all the money valve invests in Linuxgaming, the Steam tax is ok for me.
