Quoting: scaineWell, the devs don't seem to care about their game on Proton, judging by this lack of interaction:

Which is a shame, since it was one of my favorites before it stopped working. Ironically, I kind of forgot about it after it broke and never really went back to it after it stopped working the second time.

I Expect You to Die and the sequel are from the same devs and I enjoyed both of those quite a bit. The index controls for the first one are a bit wonky but the sequel worked fine.

Any certain version of proton? I've sort of suspected it might have something to do with the version of the nvidia driver I'm using. Didn't see an update to UYF between the time it worked and when it stopped and it doesn't work with older version of proton. I'm on the steamvr beta channel so that might have something to do with it too.

Until You Fall doesn't seem to work with Proton anymore.

It did before release, didn't after, then worked if you used experimental and now doesn't. Not sure what broke it the last time but I haven't been able to get it to work again even with old versions of Proton.

That's a blast from the past I didn't expect to hear again. Used to love that.
Now we've accounted for all 3 people who remember that game.

Currently it doesn't seem like the VR support is hooked up for the Linux build.
I just tested it and VR ran fine via Proton 6.3-4. Probably fine with other versions but I haven't checked.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries runs great on Linux with Proton now it's on Steam

Just ordered a new HOTAS to replace the old FF2 that I got with one of the Mechwarrior games about 20 years ago.

I also remember paying about $800 for enough RAM to be able to run MW on my old 386DX40. That bought me the awesome total of 4Mb.

God I'm old.

VR is absolutely insane, I am officially a convert and it works mostly great on Linux

Quoting: slaapliedjeAlso a Star Wars game where you can force choke the shit out of Storm Troopers and drop them off ledges. :)
Not sure about force choking but it sounds like you're looking for "Blade & Sorcery" + "The Outer Rim" mod. At this point B&S is basically just a sandbox with a bit of the ol' ultra-violence thrown in but if you like VR and the idea of working out your aggression with the aid of pointy objects, I highly recommend it. Mix in the outer rim for that star wars feel and I think you'll like it. It runs through Proton and mods are simple to install.

Valve updates Steam with more Linux improvements, new game properties UI

I'd really like to see a second "browse" button under "local files" that would take you directly to the compadata folder.

I often find myself needing to see some configuration option file and then I have to look up the ID for the game before I can start. A brows compatibility folder just seems like a natural option.

Another big SteamVR update is out now, with plenty of Linux fixes for VR enthusiasts

Quoting: wolfyrion...The only thing I'm missing is a VR Video Player for Linux to view stereoscopic videos.
Try Skybox through proton. Works pretty good for me.
