No Players Online returns after an 'unfounded DMCA claim' halted sales for nearly three weeks

This is totally unacceptable. There needs to be accountability toward the claimant to prevent this happening.

I was a bit "meh" on VR until the Steam Frame announcement but this is such an interesting and open device that I now can't wait to get one! It goes beyond just VR. Exciting times.

A retro Acorn RISC OS gem returns with Exodus: The Colonization of Space now on Steam

I loved my StrongArm Risc PC, overclocked to 287 MHz, if memory serves me right. It was so much better than Win95 which I had running on the PC card inside! I first saw Quake 1 running on that card. Never had this game though, so off topic really

It was fab growing up through the early days of home computing. Those were great times

I haven't noticed any problems personally but I'm using an AMD GPU. I see zero reasons to switch to Wayland, so won't be for the foreseeable future.

A great showcase of open source - Blender 5.0 is out with completely overhauled colour management

Blender is incredible. I've created models for a game only touching a fraction of the possibilities available. It can be very complex but you can get stuff done without being an expert. Obviously, the more you know the easier it will be.

It's also a lot of fun learning to use it. There are a ton of useful tutorials online.

Well this is a nice surprise

Finally VR looks appealing to me. Linux first VR at that! This is quite exciting really.

My TV (Samsung) has been blocked from the internet at my router for some time (sneaky privacy invading, ad infested firmware upgrades etc.) so I think I'll get a Steam Machine for watching streaming services primarily and for some gaming.

As for 8G VRAM... I've been playing Stalker 2 with firstly an 8G RX 6600 and now a 16G RX 9060 XT and guess what - it still doesn't use more than 8G VRAM (according to Mangohud). Not an issue for me anyway. I have a 4K TV but it's rarely gone above 1080p and I'm not bothered.

I can see some late Xmas pressies coming my way

The new survival game VEIN looks awesome with intelligent AI and interactions with nearly everything

Oooh, I like the look of this  Right up my street!

Edit: There is a demo and from the store page - "In the demo, you're limited to a small region of the world, and your maximum level for skills is 50 instead of 100. There are no other restrictions on the demo. The demo gets regular feature updates and bug fixes alongside the main game."

No excuse not to give it a go

Around 70,000 users affected in Discord related breach which includes some government ID images

@Pikolo - "A well designed Digital ID would result in something exactly opposite"

Unfortunately, the UK government's idea of "well designed" is the antithesis of what would be useful to it's citizens. It is purely about authoritarian control.
