Just finished Prey (2017). Pretty solid game, and it runs great on Proton :)
What have you been playing and what are your thoughts?

I've just finished Firewatch. I quite liked it, the writing and voice acting are excellent (even if the ending is a bit anticlimatic...), so it's definitely a recommendation if you like story-focused games in the same vein as Tacoma or Life is Strange.
Also finished the main campaign of Arkham Knight (running through Lutris, the game is broken on Proton for some reason). It's quite good, but unfortunately Rocksteady seems to have has taken a page from the Ubisoft book : the game is artificially padded with repetitive missions and it takes hours of painful grinding to get to the "real" ending. Quite disappointing when it's supposed to be the climax of the series.

Valve are asking for help testing "ACO", a new Mesa shader compiler for AMD graphics

Quoting: MadeanaccounttocommentYou're probably correct on all those points. But gradyvuckovic's remark was more about Nvidia realizing that a lot of good things can come out an open-source ecosystem.Quoting: gradyvuckovicThis is fantastic! This is really just cutting straight to the heart of gaming issues on Linux, tackling the real hard problems like improving minimal frame rates and eliminating stutter. This will have such a positive impact on gaming performance under Linux. Of course, it's just for AMD GPUs. NVIDIA, getting the hint yet? Open source your drivers if you want some of the open source love!I can agree that it's good to involve the community and prefer things to be open source but in this particular instance would Nvidia really benefit from implementing the idea behind this mesa shader branch? Valve got these good results because they had been using LLVM as their compiler and, like their post says since it's a general purpose compiler and overall affected by commits from people with other use cases, it didn't make sense to keep using it. But Nvidia's proprietary driver very likely doesn't incorporate LLVM and has probably had a gaming specialized shader compiler from the start.
I get the feeling this is an instance of Valve closing a gap between the open source AMD drivers and Nvidia's proprietary drivers that has existed from the start and not them using some novel new method that surpasses Nividia's implementation.

Definitely getting the Spirited Away vibes from this. The visuals are gorgeous and it looks absolutely adorable. Definitely going to keep an eye on it.

Not ashamed to admit I've spent a good chunk on my weekend playing the new Kerbal Space Program expansion, making all kinds of pointlessly over-engineered folding planes :D
Kerbal Space Program is getting a big expansion named Breaking Ground, releasing this week

Oh man, I can't wait. We are finally getting robotics parts in the stock game. Which means we can finally tuck complex structures inside fairings at launch, like planes with deployable wings or whatnot. Not to mention rotors, that's going to allow for all kinds of helicoptery contraptions. Stratzenblitz, Matt, Scott, Turbo Pumped and the other Youtubers are going to be all over this.

I bought Rise of the Tomb Raider on Steam when I was living in country A. Then I moved to country B and the game was completely removed from my account, I couldn't install it anymore. At that point I just felt robbed of 40$.
And I don't even know why it was removed, I had bought other games during that time and they were still there. Then I moved to country C and the game was back again. WTF ?
I just don't understand what's going on, as far as I know the game is available on Steam in all 3 countries and the versions are identical. There must be some random legal issue but from a consumer standpoint that whole thing is very opaque. The fact that Steam can forcibly remove games I've paid for from my accounts already irks me, but it's even worse when they don't tell me why they are doing so. DRM at its worst.

Quoting: Comandante ÑoñardoD9VK can benefit CodeWeavers for to improve Crossover... I wonder why they don't hire the guy. It's funny you say that because Joshua (the guy behind D9VK) actually works for CodeWeavers. D9VK is a personal project of his though.
The Rise of the Giant "free DLC" for Dead Cells is out and it's fantastic as expected

> Note: Gamepad support, at least with the Steam Controller is still completely broken on Linux. I have to use SC Controller to get the game to detect it.
That's really not the experience I have. Both my Logitech F310 and my DualShock 4 work out-of-the-box and the game even shows the correct button symbols for each.
