What have you been playing recently and what's your pick this weekend?

Hi,

- I’m mainly playing Shadow Empire (from VR Designs, on Matrix Store), via WINE with some tricks (see the forum). An amazing wargame 4X post-apo sci-fi.

- I also play Intergalactic Fishing, via Steam Proton, weirdly addictive even if i have no interest at all in fishing IRL.

- And some Drox Operative 2, but i’m waiting for more updates just not to be "burnt" before it’s released. I loved Drox 1, Drox 2 is about to be "same-ish but better and larger".

Colony building sim 'Maia' has a huge free update with more world simulation

I played Maia many times over its course (years in alpha/beta), and i do love the idea behind it.
Sadly, the execution is bork, bad perf, quite terrible AI, weird GUI choices, makings building un-fun.
However, i keep retrying it from time to time, i want to believe, but so far, no, it doesn’t do it.
Maybe with this update.

On my PC i have infinite loading, it’s not stuck, but it goes around "Loading" texts forever.
I also tried to launch from the folder in a terminal, but i don’t get any message.

Nice reading.

I’m following Veloren and played several versions, it’s quite impressive to see the progress done already.

More interviews on GOL would be neat.

Spaceship action RPG Drox Operative 2 lands in Early Access

Drox 2 is in "alpha", while Soldak usually release "beta".

What it means is in its current state, Drox 2 is more a Drox 1.5 and will evolve further to a proper Drox 2 as time goes. It’s already slightly more pretty, or less ugly, and the expansion from Drox 1 is included already. Also the pace is smoother. Ship flies faster and better. I played some Drox 1 these days to feel how the sequel will differ, and, well, it does.

Drox 1 is my favosite Soldak game so far, so i’m just waiting a "better Drox" to play again.

The Yellow King, an indie dark horror MMO is now on Linux

Quoting: razing32I tried that out a bit when it was free.
How is it now if you still (actively play) ?
Does it have good communit , pve ? Is it grindy ?
I play it from time to time since 2014.
Community is present, not big but enough to make contacts and friends.
It’s not your average PvE MMOG, it’s not about killing XX creatures to level up.
It’s very unique, all based around reputation and NPC personal quests to access new options.
Grind can be real too, but in a good way i feel.
A lot of exploration, both in landscape and in game’s mechanics.
No "!" and "?" to guide you, you have to search, think and ask other players.
The latest update brings breeding to the pet system.
A couple months ago the Fea were added as playable race, with here again, very unique approach.
Several animal forms to chose from (i have a Spider, a Bat and a "normal guy").
Huge amount of crafting and other complexe things to do to spend your time when you are not hunting.
