They are actually very different.
Anyway, i comment on every news about VS, so i will say it again : it's the best of its genre, and each update makes it more true.

Really like it so far, i'm hooked.
For the record, it runs very well via Proton.
I like how you can unlock new Race/Class with ease.
A new race is 30 tokens, a new class is 60 tokens. With a "Casual" run (the easiest one), you can gain about 20 tokens, and it's done in about 15 minutes. So if you play one hour, you should have already enough to unlock 1 class and 1 race, for fun.
Then, each time you play the same, you gain mastery, to unlock more cards in the given deck. After one or two runs, you should have Tier 2 cards already, but you will need some more dedication to unlock all cards from one set, so that's good too.
So, i start with Human/Mystic, and if i play Human/Hunter, i keep my Human mastery.
If later i unlock and play as Vampire/Mystic, i'll keep my previous Mystic Mastery.
I like it because it's a meta progression, just like any "roguelite" should have.
Progress per run + global progress.
That, and the core system is good. Easy to start with, and with some deep synergy once you understand what is what.
First run, you may just "attack" stuff for like 4 damage, and use some buff or cards you don't really understand the effect.
A few run later, with the exact same cards, you will attack for 20+ damage, just because you know what you are doing.
Also, don't get pushed back by the "sexyness appeal" of the game. Sure the female avatars have big boobs and a lot of visible well placed skin, but that's it, the game is quite "serious" beside this sexy-kitch.

Drox is their best game, and they said several times they "may work on a sequel later".
A few months ago, they said yes.
Now it's confirmed.
