Could be nice, however it smells like a tablet/phone game, according to the GUI, number of skills on screen etc. And that's for me never a good sign for gameplay and depth.

Turn-based tactical steampunk combat arrives with Steam Marines 2 now in Early Access

I actually didn't play it for a few months, and starting a new game now, it's still very counter intuitive in my opinion.

Creating the main character you have barely no information, you have to browse between classes instead of seeing them all in one ordered screen, adjusting stat points without option to cancel but redo it all...

The main mission screen, you see 2 marines, and it's confusing to do anything. Select the galaxy map, manage the squad, recruit, know what kind of marines you have, what is the mission etc.

The tactical part do feels better to be honest, even if i don't like the camera and GUI.

I mean, the game could be great later, but after seeing several updates and their results, i'm not fully confident.

Following the development since a couple of years i think, this game is a mess.

Thi GUI is quite terrible, controls are not well responding, squad managment is not intuitive, starting a campaign is weird, and other things.

Also it's slow and small between each update.

I want to like it, but so far, i don't.

Maybe with Steam EA it will get better attention.

I never really wanted to play Wasteland 2, i tried, but never got hooked, so i stopped all my attempts quite early.
Maybe because it was too "american cowboys" or something... I don't know really.

From the trailer, something is bothering me with the visuals.
I don't like "something".
Not sure what.
Maybe because nothing really is readable, everything is too "flat" ?

I much prefer turn based if grid based system, like in Heroes of Broken Lands, StarCrawlers, The Quest, and some others. Or at the very least, static combats. I do hate square dancing.

It's one of the very few game i'm actually expecting. Others may come when they come, but this one attracts me a lot for some reason. However i'm not a fan of metroidlike, so, we will see. Demo is nice, i love moving around and eating people.

(edit : took me 30 mnutes to see the end of the demo, and the "secret level" i guess. Fun, even if very limited in what you can actually do)
