As Kithop mentioned, there's been some significant changes to the balance of pretty much the whole game. There's definitely more emphasis on trader jobs now to the point that your progression will be much slower than it used to be if you ignore them. I actually like this change since the jobs mostly felt like a waste of time in the past..and the Better Barter and Adventurer perks were a waste of points until end-game when you had nothing better to spend them on.
The loot table progression is certainly the most obvious and significant change. I mean, there really was no progression previously. No longer will you find an auger or AK-47 on day 1 in a pile of garbage (there are some exceptions, of course). This change was sorely needed since it made most of the perks feel secondary to just running around randomly and looting. Investing perk points feels much more significant now and requires more thought up front. Unfortunately, I think the progression needs a little more tuning since even at level 30 I'm still mostly finding just stone tools and blunderbusses..they're level 6 but still kinda garbage at this stage. That's another thing, the frequency of finding blunderbusses is a little out of control. I have piles of them now in my base since the traders will only buy so many. I will say that they're actually useful now in the early game since it's probably the only gun you'll find for a long time (too long, really). I always thought it was kind of dumb how you could find end game items in random loot at the very beginning so I really like this change. This is probably the main change which got me playing again.
I'm not sure if this was a real change or not but I certainly feels to me like blood moons are much more brutal now. I've only had two so far but I wasn't even able to survive half the night for either one. Previously, in early stages you'd a get a few waves spread out over the night with plenty of time in between catch your breath. Now, it's a constant stream all night long even on day 7. I'm only playing the default difficulty level too. I hope they tone this down a bit in the future. Even better would be to give us more control of hoard nights in the game settings. I guess I've been spoiled by how much control Conan Exiles gives you over Purges and other aspects of the game.
Stability hasn't been an issue for me, but then I never had any issues in A18 either. Performance, however, is noticeably improved. FPS seems to be about 20% higher than A18 in my experience. I'm using an nVidia 2070 Super on Xubuntu 20.04 with the nVidia drivers.

Looks like it has potential. Kind of a lite version of Conan Exiles.

Vulnerability found in GRUB2 bootloader, nicknamed ‘BootHole’, compromising Secure Boot

The whole point of the "secure boot" aspect of UEFI is to prevent vulnerabilities from happening and yet, here we are. That's irony.
While there is certainly more to UEFI than just Secure Boot, MS absolutely touted this feature since, as I recall in the beginning, MS or MS partners were the only ones allowed to hold the keys. This effectively meant that any non-MS OS could not be installed on a motherboard with this feature enabled. Of course, that changed eventually but a lot of us still hold a great deal of resentment towards MS over the whole thing.

Sorting the mess of vendor specific lighting apps, OpenRGB has a new release

I've been using OpenRGB for around a year now and it was very hackey in the beginning. Seems like it's improved quite a bit so, hopefully, I won't have to mess with manual kernel patching anymore. So far, I've just used it with some Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro RAM sticks and it works great. The nice thing is that once you set them how you like, they retain that setting indefinitely since it's stored in the device's non-volatile memory.

I really hope the performance improves and doesn't get any worse with the graphical updates. I've only played A18 and even with a GFX 2070 Ultra the FPS is only passable, not amazing. Contrast that with Conan Exiles which I've been (obsessively) playing through Proton 5.0 and getting outstanding FPS with nearly every graphical feature maxed.

Same here. I've no interest in PvP and it's pretty clear that PvE is just an afterthought, at best, in this game.

I've had pretty much the same experience as others here. I grew up on the Ultima games and was a backer for this but the abysmal Linux performance has kept me from actually being able to play in any significant way. I load it up again every few months to check and it just doesn't ever seem to get better so I've pretty much lost hope on it at this point.
Maybe I'm one of the few but I wouldn't mind paying a monthly sub..if the game actually functioned above 20 fps for me. Admittedly, my GPU is getting long in the tooth (GTX 750 Ti) and I am planning to upgrade as soon as I decide on a card but I'm not holding my breath that SotA performance will suddenly become bearable. Considering even their Windows user base is complaining about performance, the future doesn't look bright.
I'm more hopeful for Underworld Ascendant once Linux compatibility is finished.
