I've probably purchased this game four or five times now over the years, including the original release way back when. Beamdog's EE version is fantastic. It looks and runs beautifully. I'm glad to see they keep putting effort into continually improving it too. I recently rolled a sorcerer to play through the main campaign and am loving it all over again.
Another nice and unexpected benefit has been that I can load the game and be playing within seconds. This is great when I just want to jump in for a short session and get back out. This is in contrast to something like 7DTD or Valheim which feel like they need more of a commitment due to the long load times, by comparison. Not that those games take an unreasonable amount of time to load, it's just that NWN is so dang fast.

Quoting: RFSharpeIt reminds me of a game called Gateway to Apshai [External Link] that I played for untold hours on my Commodore 64.I also spent many hours of my youth playing Gateway to Apshai and Temple of Apshai on my C64!. Had totally forgot about those games. Guess I need to give Loop Hero a shot.

I never really understood the Minecraft craze. I can't count how many times over the years (before MS bought it) I tried to get into it but just couldn't. It just felt too dull and pointless..maybe too open. I love open world games, in general, but I also like to have some sense of direction/goals/achievements/story/something and I just never felt any of that with Minecraft. It felt like playing around with a game engine but not an actual game. I'm also not against retro graphics but the voxel thing just doesn't excite me.
Having said all that, this game actually sounds really interesting after watching the video and reading the description on their website. The Lovecraft angle was not something I expected but am very intrigued by. The devs sound like the kind I'd like to support too; very indie and no tricks.
I wish it was on Steam but I guess they have their reasons for not supporting that platform. Looks like it's $2 cheaper to buy directly from them but you have to create an account on their site first. Does GOL get any kickback from buying directly from them or only through Humble?
- Update -
I just picked it up from Humble (via the GOL) link. Looks like the extra $2 vs. the developer's site just goes to charity so that's fine with me.

X4: Cradle of Humanity and the big 4.0 update launching March 16

It sounds more like Elite: Dangerous in terms of the open world aspect and focus on trading and exploring with combat missions being mostly optional...which is great.
I've been playing Everspace lately and actually really enjoying it which is high praise considering I don't really like combat focused space sims much nor do I like rogue/rouge-lite/Deamon Souls type gameplay where dying over and over is actually a core mechanic.
I often see the previous X games on sale on Steam (X2 and X3) for really cheap. Are those worth picking up or better to just splurge for X4?

Quoting: ElectroDDIt's more a space opera manager if you want ^^Now I'm even more intrigued by this game. I've had my eye on it for a while but, like others have said, it has some really bad reviews (at least on Steam). However, some people really seem to love it so it sounds like it might be an issue with misplaced expectations?

OpenRazer 2.9.0 is out, adding plenty of new Razer device support on Linux

I'll try it again with this new update and maybe open a feature request if it still doesn't work. Knowing battery info and controlling the lights on the charger base would be very useful.

Quoting: HoriHmmm... waiting for support for the Razer Basilisk Ultimate wireless mouse.I have a Viper Ultimate and I'm in the same boat. The problem is that the driver supports the basic functionality of the mouse itself but not the charging base which is where, I think, all the info about battery level comes from. I looked at the code a few months back and it's clear they just hacked that part together with some cutting and pasting to make it not break but didn't actually implement any of the features which the driver claims to support. In other words, you could call the methods to get or set features but none of the code is actually implemented so..it just does nothing (but doesn't break the driver).
But it's a great mouse anyway. I don't need to change the settings too often and they are kept in the mouse's memory. I've configured it once on Windows in the beginning and never felt the need to do it again until earlier today.
If it would be able to send notifications when the battery is low, then yeah, that would be really useful :)

7 Days to Die has a massive overhaul with Alpha 19 out now

1. Items shouldn't require so many damn parts to craft.
2. Parts need to be more prevalent in loot and from the trader.
These two points could help put more emphasis on perk spending so that you feel more like you have a real character "build" as in other games. This seems to be the direction they're heading anyways.
..now that I think about it, maybe the perk for something like archery could just increase the chance of finding parts for that type of item. I don't think this is how it currently works...at least it doesn't feel as such.
Also, beakers and acid (to make a chem station) are still way too rare. At least let me buy some from the trader.

Quoting: g000hI have found while I'm playing that I can often craft a tool quicker than I'll find one in loot.Yeah and I think this is a good change since it really makes those related crafting perks feel more complete and significant...if only you can find the goddamn parts to craft the item in the first place. As just one example, I had the ability to craft a crossbow by like lvl 5 or so but I didn't actually find enough parts until lvl 30ish. By that time, I'd already bought a lvl1 crossbow from the trader and even if I dismantled it to craft a better version, I STILL wouldn't have enough parts. This drives me crazy since it happens with pretty much every item.

As Kithop mentioned, there's been some significant changes to the balance of pretty much the whole game. There's definitely more emphasis on trader jobs now to the point that your progression will be much slower than it used to be if you ignore them. I actually like this change since the jobs mostly felt like a waste of time in the past..and the Better Barter and Adventurer perks were a waste of points until end-game when you had nothing better to spend them on.
The loot table progression is certainly the most obvious and significant change. I mean, there really was no progression previously. No longer will you find an auger or AK-47 on day 1 in a pile of garbage (there are some exceptions, of course). This change was sorely needed since it made most of the perks feel secondary to just running around randomly and looting. Investing perk points feels much more significant now and requires more thought up front. Unfortunately, I think the progression needs a little more tuning since even at level 30 I'm still mostly finding just stone tools and blunderbusses..they're level 6 but still kinda garbage at this stage. That's another thing, the frequency of finding blunderbusses is a little out of control. I have piles of them now in my base since the traders will only buy so many. I will say that they're actually useful now in the early game since it's probably the only gun you'll find for a long time (too long, really). I always thought it was kind of dumb how you could find end game items in random loot at the very beginning so I really like this change. This is probably the main change which got me playing again.
I'm not sure if this was a real change or not but I certainly feels to me like blood moons are much more brutal now. I've only had two so far but I wasn't even able to survive half the night for either one. Previously, in early stages you'd a get a few waves spread out over the night with plenty of time in between catch your breath. Now, it's a constant stream all night long even on day 7. I'm only playing the default difficulty level too. I hope they tone this down a bit in the future. Even better would be to give us more control of hoard nights in the game settings. I guess I've been spoiled by how much control Conan Exiles gives you over Purges and other aspects of the game.
Stability hasn't been an issue for me, but then I never had any issues in A18 either. Performance, however, is noticeably improved. FPS seems to be about 20% higher than A18 in my experience. I'm using an nVidia 2070 Super on Xubuntu 20.04 with the nVidia drivers.
