I just want them to do one model as a single target for developers and if it's not a flop, do a revision every 2-3 years.

Then again, it could end up just being a Steam Controller 2 and these optimized games are just setup for it ready.
Yes, please bring me a new Steam Controller. I have no interest in a handheld gaming thing.

Everyone has smartphones that can play games and the switch is everywhere. What kind of minuscule niche would this live in?
If I'm not interested in stupid smartphones and their buttonless controllers? And I don't like Nintendo and its ecosystem?

Quoting: subMaybe it's a controller with a display that just works as a Steam Remote Play client?
That would be pretty damn pointless and wouldn't require any of the features that those strings suggest.

0)any one trust valve to make an game console again after the steam machines flop? anyone would trust then with your money?
1)the market for this type of thing is already flooded, gpd win etc.
Steam Machines were a "flop" because there was barely a market for it.

Also, the market is hardly flooded.

Steam Play Proton gets a few quick fixes in the 6.3-4 release out now

Quoting: rustybroomhandleSucks how often these launchers break Proton compatibility when the games themselves work fine. Most recent example is Mass Effect Legendary Edition.
One reason why I don't buy/play most EA games and like no Ubisoft stuff at all.

Quoting: kuhpunktWhat extra 30%?!
Read article top to bottom. They loose some money because obviously they can't charge too much more, so generally devs take a slight hit in the profits in order to be competitive with other games of similar type.
But you said extra 30%, not "some money."

Quoting: TheRiddickI kind of get why Tarkov devs are selling on their own website atm, at least while in development. They need that extra %30 and if it was on steam the game would cost a fair bit more which isn't fair to the player base.
What extra 30%?!

Quoting: lelorrainIt works only one way with Steam. A good example is the large discount Steam offered recently on "Horizon Zero Dawn", but it was NOT discounted on GOG, still at the initial Cdn$60 which was the same as on Steam ...

BTW, I have both versions, since I prefer the no-DRM, no-background APP of GOG!
Nobody is telling the publisher to not put HZD on sale on gog...
