i am running this ryzen + gtx 1080 on a 1440 display, all on ultra, steady fps and very smooth experience. I am enojying this game a lot! already been playing 25 hours, and i don't see why i should not play this a lot longer! once i finish a campaign with a faction, it will be time to do it with another faction! There's plenty of content, and it runs smooth.

Quoting: wytrabbitI see you have the impression that they are the same ATARI that produced those classic consoles from the 80s and 90s. They're not.
NOT EVEN THAT, what's this all about? Nostalgia and linux exploitation? :D sincerely asking!

Hardware that hardly anyone needs, from a company hardly anyone care anymore and could hardly add anything for everybody's interest. From what i read here, they will take advantage of open source without giving back, and they are literally asking for free help on their closed software and hardware. They are a company of the past, and demonstrate yet once again misinterpreting open source. Some strategy like this could spark little to none interest in the past when hardly any company would embrace linux. Nowadays big companies are spending big money to boost the platform for everyone else. Time is shifting, and this atari thing look like cancer, not innovation IMHO.

even if the majority of linux users wouldn't understand nor favour this solution, this is exactly what many people is working hard on. This is the realpolitik masterplan to make linux a more influent market-share. Every game on proton-db shown as gold and better, is the first step to the solution. Every game should run well enough on linux. Then the user-base can grow, if people in linux world don't oppose it. Then better drivers will come. Then eventually, better software (not only games) could be found running best on linux.

Then, i truly believe, we will live in a better, more open, more transparent and meritocratic society, with a stronger immune-system for bad corporativism and bad IT practices.

To me, it looks like a logical way.
Someone will be against it, because they prefer to live as King of the Mountain. And maybe they might even succeed. Until they will fall when the others will come for them.

Of course the best choice and obvious way to go, should be port games that are completely borked in proton for drm reasons, but are clearly really really missed in linux.

PUBG not working on linux it is a big issue, even if i don't play it! I sincerely hope this is eventually working one way or the other, and that there is some money to be make, and that.

Is there a chance Feral get in touch with Bluehole and PUBG corporation, and make this happen? This would be a big win for linux platform, and something that could really make a difference!

As others have said, cyberpunk is a very hyped title, and that would be an insta-buy for almost everyone, i guess. Being so far from release, who knows if it is even possible to talk about a linux port? I really hope that this is done eventually.

At SISoftware they have dropped the linux version for this year football manager. It is getting decent reviews and the game has got faithful followers. is there anything it could be done about this? this was a loss for linux.
