It's really refreshing to see a famous AAA game ruining day 1 on proton without AC or an shady DRM causing problems.

Steam Deck on track for the end of February

Quoting: Purple Library GuyAll this stuff is not really subject to discussion or argument, it's just the facts.
Well it isn't me "discussing" anything about the delay, if it's about Im using plural in my original comment, it's because I'm talking about @Arehandoro not receiving neither december nor february according to him, and this is also a fact.

Quoting: EikeThat's their personal date, not the general release date. Everybody preordering gets a personal prediction when their respective order might actually happen.
Is there anyone who already received? (common customers)

Quoting: slaapliedjeUhm, there has been one delay.
First was predicted to February 2022, now @Arehandoro said:

Quoting: ArehandoroMy order availability now says after Q2 2022.
The original release date was Christmas 2021.

Quoting: JuliusApparently they are working on such a game called "Citadel".
I didn't knew that, and "Citadel" might be a code for the original name (or maybe something related to Half Life)

All these delays might make steam deck miss the hype train. I think if the experience isn't already good on arrival, this could make Deck fail on start too.

Valve should also release a new game with deck in mind to show the device qualities, like other "consoles" usually do.

Does users need to do something to enable Futex2 benefits, besides installing Kernel >=5.16 and the latest version of proton?

Quoting: GuestIts not about the percentage of games that work, its about the name of the games that don't.
I agreed, my based opinion says:
1 game with 100.000 players is more important than 100.000 games with 1 player

Quoting: GuestIt will be an unpopular opinion but Valve would have been better off shipping Windows on the Steam Deck out of the box and just not locking down the bootloader for anyone who wants to install linux.
Totally disagree on this one, the whole point in all of this for Valve is to be independent than any third party company decisions (aka Microsoft), and they would also have to put a windows license embedded in the price. It's not like Valve can just "crack" windows inside Deck like most of the people who install Windows on Steam Deck will do.

Phasmophobia just recently seemed to fix the voice comms with Proton.
That's awesome, I thought they were dependent on Cortana with this one, does anybody knows which changed to made it possible?

PUBG's newer anti-cheat sounds problematic for the Steam Deck and Linux

Korean / Chinese games usually use an in house anticheat or something from an asian company, I'm surprised this wasn't the case yet.

Since this very popular game will be f2p, It'll be so much a "cheater's fest" to the point this isn't going to be a big lost for Linux gaming in my opinion.

I think this is Valve's already predicting how ARM will eventually take over of x86_64 architecture, and this is them keeping the vanguard like they're used to do
