The Beamdog & Owlcat RPG Humble Bundle has some killer games in it

Since I already own some games, i have searched for the prices to check if it is a good bundle for me. I include the data below in case anyone else needs it:
The prices are the most discounted price found on SteamDB in the last 2 years in Euro.
PS:
If you want to support GamingOnLinux with this bundle, remember to check if it is present in the "Adjust donation" section or at checkout. I tell this because if you use the browser addon uBlock with the "Actually Legitimate URL Shortener Tool" filter the link will probably be cleaned up (the same will happen with other URL cleaner addons). To avoid this problem in uBlock I added to the "My Filters" tab the following line:
This should disable the "remove parameter" feature in the url for the website humblebundle ( src [External Link] ).
| Game | Price | Notes |
| ----------------------------------------------------- | -------- | ------------------- |
| Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader | € 32.49 | |
| Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition | € 3.90 | |
| Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - Enhanced Edition | € 9.99 | |
| Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous - Season Pass | € 7.24 | |
| Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous – Season Pass 2 | € 17.39 | |
| Pathfinder: Kingmaker — Enhanced Plus Edition | € 2.99 | |
| Pathfinder: Kingmaker - Season Pass | € 18.74 | No longer for sale |
| Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition | € 39.70 | Not higher discount |
| Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition | € 2.39 | |
| Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition | € 1.59 | |
| Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition | € 2.39 | |

Developing a Video Game with Unreal Engine 5 on Linux

Better to keep the Win version tested constantly in parallel with your main build target. We have seen too many developers discover at release time their "for sure" multi-platform source code not to build for Linux and conclude the cost to bring up on par the Linux build with the Win build to be too costly and drop the Linux build. This is annoying for the player but doing the opposite for the developer company would probably be... lethal.
Good work!

7 Days to Die gets an experimental Beta for the 1.0 release

I checked how they handle bug reports and found it is all done on the official forums (and the known issues are published though a spreadsheet on google docs ). There is already one bug report similar to my problem but they have some problem reproducing the crash. I added a new report with my logs hoping to help.

The native version of the experimental beta crashes after a few seconds after loading a new game and immediately after loading a save while the proton version is stable. Since nobody here wrote about the stability i conclude all normally uses the proton version?

Is it possible the cursor/button offset is linked to the use of wayland or X11? With KDE Wayland I see the problem but not in KDE X11.
Setting the environmental variable fixes the problem for me on KDE Wayland, thank you :woot: .
About the Steam rating, after the first days of mixed reviews (from people complaining about the game being too similar or to different than XCOM :dizzy:) now the majority of reviews are positive. The game is already at 65% positive and raising (a little slowly). At 70% it should switch to "mostly positive", it is not far away.

The game is good and fun, nice graphics and for now performance and stability are good. The absence of randomness and cover makes it quite different than the classics, it is more centered on the interaction between the characters.
One thing I found missing is the audio for the narrator in the intermission videos. The characters speak and then... silence... then they speak again. A good narrative voice would perhaps have improved the interludes, and given more opportunities to add more funny jokes  .
Quoting: CheesenessOh darn. We saw this on the Steam Deck, but I thought we'd fixed it. I'll look into it further and see what I can do.I found a similar problem linked to the interaction between the cursor and the UI elements (buttons, checkboxes). It looks like there is some offset between the cursor coordinates and the UI coordinates. The cursor is not interacting with the buttons in the lower part of the buttons but keeps interacting on the upper part even where the UI element is already ended. Switching to windowed and back fixes the problem. I am running a Fedora 40 with KDE, AMD GPU and a 2560x1440 monitor (there is also another 1920x1080 monitor connected).

Embracer Group splitting into three companies

When a restructuring company splits in two it is usually because they want to keep the "good" parts and put the "bad" parts in a "bad company" that can be left to die. This is a little different, why 3 companies? The "AAA" company is probably the profitable one, the one they plan to keep milking. But the other two? Two different levels of risk of investment?
BORE BLASTERS will be your next fixation - out now

I had some difficulties installing the demo of Bore Blasters on the Steam Deck.
Searching for the game returned the demo in the results but opening the link to the demo opened the store page of the full game. In the page there was not a link to install the demo, only the OST and various packages. The store page in the desktop version of steam on my main PC instead had the link to install the demo.
I tried installing the demo on in desktop PC hoping to make it visible in the "last games" section of the steam deck but it didn't work. Searching again in the steam deck displayed the demo in the library section and this time it allowed me to install it.
Am I the only one with this problem or is it specific to some configuration of my system? I am on the stable version of the Steam Deck. Since the Steam Deck looks like an awesome platform to play this game I find it strange to encounter all this difficulties installing the demo. If this is a common problem for others it may useful to the developer to know about it.
