Quoting: MohandevirIs there such a thing as a gamer that doesn't have a Steam account nowadays?!
Actually if I have a Steam account is only because I bought Morrowind many years ago ... and I use it only for games I cannot play without it such as the TES games. The same for Ubisoft because of Mass Effect games. Comparatively, I have only 50+ Steam games compared to 300+ non-Steam ones.

Since November '20, the last time that an RTX card was more or less affordable, I have not been able to get any in Canada ... The 3070 I wanted at the time was C$900 and a month later when I was ready to buy it came out at almost twice that price, shipped from Israel! I am still waiting ...

Trouble is brewing over on GOG due to the HITMAN release needing online for some features

In the same vein, GOG is trying to force users to use their "GOG Galaxy" to install games on Windows or Wine! I could not install the latest version of Anno 1404 on Wine and when I tried on Windows/10 I got a message saying that Galaxy was NOT installed! I later discovered that when I start the game, it take some times for the game really load ... the reason, it's looking for GALAXY to load! BTW, Galaxy needs Internet connection to execute!

Surviving Mars: Below and Beyond DLC out with a free update, Surviving Mars free to keep

The bug is not so terrible ... the debug box that comes out is seen mostly at the beginning of a new game and very occasionally later on. On thing that is most annoying is that a lot of mods are not compatible with the new version. Although I noticed that some mod have been incorporated in the new version of the base game. Also old save games are not recognized by the game (format change?)

It works only one way with Steam. A good example is the large discount Steam offered recently on "Horizon Zero Dawn", but it was NOT discounted on GOG, still at the initial Cdn$60 which was the same as on Steam ...

BTW, I have both versions, since I prefer the no-DRM, no-background APP of GOG!

Quoting: NugrudIs it possible to get linux native version from Epic Games Store that was giving it away for free recently?
On GOG you can have a native Linux version ... I have been playing it for quite some time now on Ubuntu 18.04.
The advantage of GOG is that it is DRM free.

Well, fine for people who want to use ONLY Steam ... Personally, I do not like to have someone in the background recording all I do. The same reason I do not use GOG's Galaxy.
Usually I buy access to a Linux game on Steam only If I cannot get it from GOG, and that's only for games that I really, really want to play like Horizon Zero Dawn!

Quoting: lelorrainFor the time being I am happy to play on Linux, even some new Windows games, such as HZD at 30fps (), and thru RDP on Linux!
Why play on Linux thru RPD? Because I spend most of my time on the Linux Rig and get the same FPS than on the Windows one () since on Windows I have only an Asus GTX750ti which I hope to upgrade to an Asus dual RTX3070-OC8G in the not too distant future ... when they become available again!

I am still trying to learn to play Horizon Zero Dawn with an Xbox 360 controller ... This is the first time I handle one of these, and I do not find it easy!

I always been playing with KB&M on PC, the only console I ever been playing with was the Atari 2600 (Which I still have, with about 30-40 games cassettes!)
