Victory At Sea Naval Combat Game Released For Linux
14 Aug 2014 at 7:37 pm UTC

i cant compare it to battlestations or warshpips because i havent played those.
But i can compare to M&B in some terms. it is pretty similar.. but way more simplistic.
you cant upgrade or equip your ships with different guns/armor/whatever. You can just buy new ships(There are a lot of them, with statistical differences like more armor, more gun range etc)
gameplay is pretty simplistic as well. there is not huge amounts of actions to do when battling (no micromanagement for ship crew or anything). But that doesnt mean its boring. Some battles are pretty intense. you have to navigate your ship closely to not get hit by torpedos and position them the way to sink enemy ships easily, that requires some good thinking and fast thinking to switch and position multiple ships. Campaign mode gets repeative pretty fast. most battles are too easy and against 1 or 2 enemy ships only. Theres also no multiplayer sadly.
Its still fun game as it is.. and theres Axis campaigns on the list of their new updates as well, which will bring more variety to campaign (being able to play other side).

overall, i think if you into battleship games, its worth to pick... maybe wait for small price drop if thats too much, or enter the contest to win the key (above video)

PS sry for my poor english

A New The Witcher 2 Linux Beta Appears, Improved Performance
11 Aug 2014 at 6:55 pm UTC

no framerate problems for me since launch... but it feels a bit better with the new beta indeed. probably the framerate is even higher...i can see that its using 2 cores now..goes up to 3 cores sometimes.. while it was using 1 core only when it was released for linux.
all maxed. bloom sh1t off and uber off 1080p is super smooth.

the one thing that was pain when the game launched for linux was the mouse jerkyness.
which seem to be fixed with the latest beta update. all is great now.. i dont see any crashes when i exit the game either.

ROCCAT Ryos MK Glow Review
1 Aug 2014 at 7:35 am UTC Likes: 1

Quoting: lem18Hey Xpander,

Can you try holding down the \ key on the Ryos, does it repeat? Also when it's held down, if you press other keys, what happens?

Here's what happens with other NKRO keyboards under Linux (in this case a Deck Hassium in NKRO mode, switchable by a key on the board itself):

Holding down backslash: \
Holding down backslash and typing roccat: \r\\o\\c\\c\\a\\t\\

Linux has issues with USB NKRO keyboards in general, but this Roccat Ryos seems not to have the issues that the others do.

Cheers
holding it down and typing roccat brings me: \roccat

if i hold it down it does repeat, but when its held down and i press other keys it stops repeating and wont return anymore unless i release and press again
