great to see improvements but still long way to go with graphicaly intensive stuff like valley

a 660TI (midrange card) can beat 7950(highend card) by 3x

scroll down for my tropics and valley benchmarks:

all in all .. old source engine games run pretty good... would be interesting to see Serious Sam 3, Natural Selection and Metro LL in the mix as well

Quoting: Half-Shot
Quoting: sevenis the dev happy with the sales on linux, did he give any comments on that?
His previous comment was that he didn't think the effort was worth it, and only Unity like tools can make it worthwhile for developers.
what? he has always said that the numbers doesnt matter, Linux/SteamOS port is the right thing to do. i am too lazy to search the actual link for it.. but there have been several interviews with him where he is saying that.

also you cant take everyting 100% true from his mouth.. he is ranting about everything.. not only about linux.

Quoting: GuestOh and I wish AMD released some processors that aren’t ridiculous compared to my four year old Core i3… :-/

Edit: I mean, processors that would be significantly faster while at the same time not using 4 times more electricity.
but they are like twice faster than your i3 with the same price, when it comes to multithreading.
singlethread perf sucks indeed.

electricy problem is pure lies.. you will loose like 10€ per year when comparing those and running 8 hours a day fullspeed.

also note that both intel and amd mark their TDP differently, they are not same.

Quoting: vultureprofessional reviewers? that is pure example of Nickelback effect

i can only remember 1 or 2 games where my favourite games were above 85, most being under 70, some even under 50. i can also remember whole lot of almost 100 that sucked as hell. take AC for example, they put so much in graphics, they forgot they are making game and not movie.

when i see someone putting grade on review, i simply don't click on it. same as i don't care about trailers. google "gamex gameplay video" and there is your score. if you like it, buy it, if you don't, don't
+1

i agree fully

Quoting: ColoneilWhat about the intel Pentium g3258? It's only a dual core but when pushed up to 4.5 Ghz it has been reported to keep up with an i7-4790k, most of the games are not yet properly multi-threaded anyways.

This will allow to go for a mini-itx motherboard and therefore the wonderful Silverstone Raven RVZ01 which has enough room for any graphics card (for a possible future upgrade). As for the hard-drive did you consider an sshd? for 25$ extra you get 1TB and more speed. Regarding the Graphics card I totally agree the gtx 750 ti is an awesome graphics card.

Here is my build (http://pcpartpicker.com/p/TWbGhM [External Link])

And great article btw ;)
its good..but future proofing is also a great idea.. since new game consoles are multicore AMD CPUs.. with singlecore perf a bit weaker...and as we know many games are done first for consoles.. so they are probably going to be optimized to use more cores.

great article.. pretty much all the components are the ones i always recommend for budget gaming pc.

its a bit more expensive than xbone in US but PC can do a lot more than xbone + games arent locked to 900p and 30 fps

Victory At Sea Naval Combat Game Released For Linux

i cant compare it to battlestations or warshpips because i havent played those.
But i can compare to M&B in some terms. it is pretty similar.. but way more simplistic.
you cant upgrade or equip your ships with different guns/armor/whatever. You can just buy new ships(There are a lot of them, with statistical differences like more armor, more gun range etc)
gameplay is pretty simplistic as well. there is not huge amounts of actions to do when battling (no micromanagement for ship crew or anything). But that doesnt mean its boring. Some battles are pretty intense. you have to navigate your ship closely to not get hit by torpedos and position them the way to sink enemy ships easily, that requires some good thinking and fast thinking to switch and position multiple ships. Campaign mode gets repeative pretty fast. most battles are too easy and against 1 or 2 enemy ships only. Theres also no multiplayer sadly.
Its still fun game as it is.. and theres Axis campaigns on the list of their new updates as well, which will bring more variety to campaign (being able to play other side).

overall, i think if you into battleship games, its worth to pick... maybe wait for small price drop if thats too much, or enter the contest to win the key (above video)

PS sry for my poor english
