LEGO Minifigures Online Released For Linux, Some Thoughts
3 Jul 2015 at 1:21 pm UTC

Quoting: liamdaweThe point is it's an MMO, it's supposed to have some sort of challenge to it.
Not sure how you came to that conclusion, Massive Multiplayer Online has nothing to do with challenge or not, there are plenty of MMO's where people just log in to do easy stuff and hang out with their virtual friends, talk about their day or what ever. Not every MMO has to be like good old EQ ;)

Anyways if you take a look at https://www.commonsensemedia.org/game-reviews/lego-minifigures-online [External Link] you see the age group is around 10 years and kids learn Thinking & Reasoning & Collaboration

DiRT Showdown Looks Like It's Getting A Linux Release
1 Jul 2015 at 4:25 pm UTC

Quoting: supermonkey77As long as it runs at 60fps on midrange hardware (as all racing games should), I'm a happy camper.
at 640x480 with all settings on low I asume ?....... I agree on the 60fps part, the midrange hardware is a bit far fetched though

SOMA, The New Horror From Frictional Games Due In September Day-1 For Linux, New Trailer Too

Getting a good system shock vs alien feel from it so far :)
Good that the PC thing got cleared up, but tbh I find myself getting more PS4 games and less Linux games the last few months (bloodborne, FF X remastered, Witcher 3), so not sure yet if its gone be a linux buy

Two Worlds II Action RPG Will Apparently Still Be Ported To Linux

Quoting: EikeThis is probably way too late to make any money, ain't it?
I've got a bit of fear that such late ports will hurt Linux sale reputation...

Star Trek Comes To Linux, Star Trek 25th Anniversary & Star Trek Judgement Rites On GOG

Liam, I never used a .deb based OS.

Under openSUSE /opt is a root partition which normaly is not that huge if you stick with the default install (2gb /swap, 20gb / and rest /home) so I would not want my games on that, is this different under ubuntu ?

Secondly installing an RPM requires su rights, maybe I am to untrustworthy but I avoid using that for anything that is not from the signed repositories ?

Larian Studios Working On A New Game While Divinity: Original Sin Is Still Not On Linux

It would be pretty bad practice of Larian to NOT be working on another title, they got a company to run.

I did help the KS and am pissed its taking so long, but to make such a big subject about it because they thinking about the future is a bit silly to say the least

Review: Broken Age On Linux
5 May 2015 at 1:48 pm UTC

Just finished it also, can agree almost fully with this review, well written and clear. Personally I hated the knot puzzle, I did understand it but
Spoiler, click me
describing a knot and those weird looking clues, was pure luck in the end for me
.

If I place it next to BouT2 which also came out this year then I personally had more fun with BouT2, puzzle wise and just laughing here behind the screen.

Gabe Newell Takes To Reddit To Answer Questions On Steam Paid Mods

Gabe got downvoted hard on this reddit, there where some really good argument made like this one https://np.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/33uplp/mods_and_steam/cqol9re [External Link] and https://www.reddit.com/r/gaming/comments/33uplp/mods_and_steam/cqom1kq [External Link] but sadly Gabe never responded to those at all

Gabe Newell Takes To Reddit To Answer Questions On Steam Paid Mods

Quoting: melkemindFar too often, mod developers say, "I'm busy with school now, so do whatever you want with this mod." Others just disappear without a word. Valve doesn't seem to have any accountability for them.
As long as mods a free and a hobby its perfectly fine to do that. :)

Basicly valve gives the people who done all this as a hobby/fun/showcase the opportunity to earn money with it, which could be cool but that comes with responsibility and commitment. Mods are, especially in games like Skyrim, close to real programs which often not only depend on the main program but also on other mods. You as a (paid) modder can fix your stuff if there is an update but if another mod on which you depend does not get updated (paid or not) then what ? You can't update other people's paid mods and publish them, you can't take parts of their source and put it into yours which your getting paid for. You might be able to update or include an updated version of a free mod but still I can imagine that causing problems too.

Its a can of worms.....
