You obviously don't know what abandonware means... Anyway the new release has a number of improvements over the original. Personally I'd appreciate not having to pull out the booklet for the flavor text.
I do know what it means, but the simpel fact is the game is available on many of the abandonware sites thus my comment stands.

The Bard's Tale Release For Linux On Steam
14 Oct 2013 at 1:39 pm UTC

I recognise the name of this one but I have never played it myself, what are your thoughts on it? Let us know in the comments!
To be honest, bards tale 1, 2 and 3 where fun back in the days and spend many many hours with them, the totally crazy battles at times... "you encounter 99 skeletons", drawing maps on paper, balancing your party etc. etc.. You can get them for free at http://www.abandonwaredos.com [External Link] and they run just fine in dosbox.

The bards tale shown in the video can't really be seen in the same light, it's not a bad game, has some good humour in it but its not the bards tale, not in gameplay or depth, your not even controlling a true party, its a nice adventure game but that is it.

Penumbra Collection Now On Desura

Quoting: Quote from HamishBought it almost as soon as I saw it on Desura, but I unfortunately have ran into some problems:
http://www.frictionalgames.com/forum/thread-23562.html [External Link]

Hoping to get this resolved, but I have had no help from technical support as of yet. :(
Could also be a Gallium3D driver issue in how they implemented some of the opengl calls the game uses ?
