Reminder: "Cloud gaming" is the ultimate DRM racket and games exclusive to these platforms will be lost forever at some point.

Incredible emulator 3dSen PC converts classics into 3D and it's out now

Neat gimmick, but I can't get behind proprietary emulators. I'm not even a Stallmanist, but the point of emulation is preservation. Having your emulator be closed sauce runs counter to that.

Quoting: MohandevirTalking about GoG... It seems, but I'm not sure what to make of that, that one of the threads requesting a Linux port of the GoG Galaxy client just got changed to "In progress"... What does that could mean?

I always doubt they'll do this anytime soon. There is no business reason for that. I'm Linux-only user and I think it'd be great to get Galaxy for Linux, but let's face the fact that Steam made a huge progress here, with their one-click SteamPlay. 2 years ago Galaxy for Steam would be nice replacement. Today Steam client is something more for Linux users, it gives you access to almost full library, no matter Win/Mac/Linux official support. I doubt company like GOG would be ever able to deliver this kind of solution for us...
GOG should really be contributing to Proton at least. Long term, you're not going to be able to keep these old Win32 games running natively in Windows 10 forever. It's really going bite them in the ass one day if they don't.

Supraland is leaving GOG after less than a year, dev says sales were low

This dev aside, I tend to shy away from GOG even though I am highly sympathetic do DRM-free gaming. The reasons are that, as a Linux gamer, GOG is simply a bigger hassle than Steam. I have to sort out libfoo problems with 70% of the games in my library that have native support (frankly, I have less problems running ancient Win32 games in Wine often enough). GOG should also be looking to, at the very least, piggy back off of Valve and Codeweaver's work with Proton. But nothing has even been mentioned there.

And all of GOG's recent moves point to a deemphasizing of the DRM-free stance of the platform. We already have games like Granda 2 phoning home, for example.

Quoting: DesumWe'll see how European socialism fares when the United States goes into decline and ceases to be the friendly global hegemon. Y'know, when they'll have to pay for all of their own defense budget.
United States, friendly? OK now I know I really can't take you seriously, whathever you say about countries being socialist or not, this is top notch.
But you're right on one thing for sure, the United States are in decline, and when this day comes up it won't be a bad thing. So many countries are so tied, economically and politically, to the USA that's pretty slavery.

I won't reply on this thread again, at least I shouldn't.
You didn't say anything of substance this time. How are you going to keep that NHS when you also have to pay three times as much for your military as you do now?
What, for fear the eeevil Russkies will invade? They have neither the motive nor the capability. Europe and Great Britain have no need to be defended against anyone in particular.
Currently, the main thing the US is defending Europe against is the ability to have lucrative trade ties with countries the US disapproves of.
You honestly think you'll never need to ramp up your military again... That's both cute and sad.
Insisting that everyone should cripple their economies out of vague hypothetical future fear is sad, but not cute.
Crack open a history book and look into evolutionary psychology. If you think humanity is done with war and violence, I got a bridge running through a swamp to sell you.

I mean, good on them for opening up the source code. I wonder how this will stack up to Naev and Endless Sky.

I vaguely recall Frictional saying they planned to open source the other two Penumbra games along with Amnesia:TDD at some point.
