Took them long enough, but finally it's here. And looks like the game also improved since release. Will buy it next sale. :).

It's sometimes very interesting (and frightening) to read through some logs. Like, look at Liam's first picture. If my notebook reported something like "[ 3.318673] ? __die_body.cold+..." I would sure be frightened... :).

Men of War II out now on Steam with Native Linux support

Quoting: ToddLI was going to ask about if it was worth it to get the first Men of War but after reading these comments about Men of War 2, I'm going to avoid it.
I don't know how well they aged, but first Men of War [External Link] (and the actual first two games in the series - Soldiers: Heroes of World War II [External Link] and Faces of War [External Link] where quite good in their time.

The Machine Age DLC for Stellaris out now along with free Andromeda update

While I'm not that hyped about new types of machine empires, I must say their new Cosmogenesis "become Crisis" path sounds cool. I mean, you literally embark your entire civilization on a gigantic ship and jump into a black hole in hopes to create a whole new and better universe for your people...

Feels like a proper "science victory" for me. :).

Classic RTS Perimeter returns as PERIMETER: Legate Edition with Linux support

Oh, I remember this game.

The game features like real-time terraforming and completely alterable landscapes where quite unique back in 2004. And honestly, they are still unique in 2024...

Paradox announce Stellaris: Season 08, with Stellaris: The Machine Age launching May 7th

Looks like it will be the first Stellaris DLC I won't buy on release. IDK, I guess I'm a bit tired of the game? But I'm happy that now they are outlining their plans for the whole year in advance - and now I know that I have some interest for Cosmic Storms DLC and a lot of interest for The Grand Archive DLC. So I already have plans to return to the game later - autumn or winter sale will probably be a good time...

Crypt of the NecroDancer just got a Hatsune Miku DLC

...Is it strange that this DLC was the last straw that pushed me to finally buy the game?

Swordhaven: Iron Conspiracy from the ATOM RPG team has a demo and Kickstarter live
28 Mar 2024 at 7:53 pm UTC

Quoting: JarmerI downloaded the demo, and unfortunately the linux version had just a black screen (missing into cinematic I guess) and no audio at all (but that's not this game, that's a system wide issue for me for whatever reason).
For me demo also started with a black screen, but a single Esc key was enough to proceed. Both intro and the game itself played fine after this.

I liked ATOM RPG very much in the past and Swordhaven demo wasn't bad either, so I decided to give them some support on Kickstarter... :).

GOG revives Alpha Protocol along with a Spring Sale
22 Mar 2024 at 6:29 pm UTC

Quoting: ToddLI wonder if they'll ever put this version up on Steam in the future because I'm sure there will be enough people that want to buy this game for those that missed out on it before the delisting.
Quoting: CyborgZetaI wish it was on Steam. I basically quit buying games from GOG a couple years ago because it was easier just playing games in Steam. Still, I'm glad to see GOG do this, and I'm willing to buy it.
It was on Steam [External Link] previously. And you can still find keys on some third party resellers, but they cost like 90 euros now. Which is probably too much for a simple convenience...

GE-Proton 9-2 released, ULWGL gets renamed to umu (Unified Linux Wine Game Launcher)

I don't think a lot of people would know about Māori earth oven internal structure, but quite a few can remember this word from Anime. :).

Spoiler, click me

umu

It's an archaic Japanese interjection meaning 'yea', 'uh huh'. In modern Japanese fiction it's used similar to いい (ii) in that it can be used as an affirmative or positive ("Yes, that's good"), noncommittally or resignedly ("fine, alright") or dismissively ("Enough!")
"Do you want to play shougi"?
"Umu, I sure do! Where shall we play?"
