I've had my eyes on Maia and Crea for a while, but I'm waiting until their out of EA.

The Banner Saga Is Finally Available For Linux
18 Apr 2015 at 2:25 am UTC

Detects my Roccat mouse as controller and doesn't allow me to continue. Fix as found on steam discussion forums: add flag "gp=false".
Crashes when I got trading card (not sure if related, but suspicious coincidence), I'm going to try playing further before doing a bug report. (NVid prop, Ub 14.10)

Minimon Monster Catcher Released In Steam Early Access (UPDATED)

@Liamdawe: Could you change the title, people who don't bother to read the article may get the wrong idea.

If wanted to just get some money I would have made a kickstarter asking for 1 million dollars and then deliver a turd here, complete with 50 DLC packs, and then I would already have shilled the game with 100 fake reviews.
I like the real dev :-)

Minimon Monster Catcher Released In Steam Early Access (UPDATED)

(If the lead dev is to be trusted) That guy actually hadn't even worked on the game yet. So I wouldn't hold the dev accountable for what happened, seems like an over-eager fan trying to crawl into someone else's project and claiming some authorship over it. I haven't looked into it very much, but it might turn out that the dev was just doing damage control as well...

Either way, at the moment the game doesn't interest me enough. As much as I like Pokemon (and clones), it looks like it has quite a road to go before it's ready to leave EA.

Why Are We Still Dual Booting?
13 Mar 2015 at 12:34 am UTC

I still have one computer that dual-boots linux/windows. I've not used the windows partition in months (4?), but I keep it around in case some program requires me to use it. Def. not using it for gaming, there's enough games on Linux these days, but I might need it for work.
As for wine. I use it for work (Unity Editor), haven't used it for gaming in quite a while, although I might try and finish off some old titles (that are unlikely to ever be ported) from my library through wine (instead of letting them go to waste).

Lots Of Big Games Confirmed For SteamOS, Torchlight II Now Out, Payday 2, Mordor And More Coming Too

Quoting: CybaCowboyA new age is upon us, and the penguin will rise...
Quoting: NickNuclearIt is beginning!
Just bought Saints Row IV GOTC for $8.
But... It's not available for Linux-based operating systems yet!
You realize your money doesn't go to the Linux developer/porter if you buy the Microsoft Windows version, right?
Seeing as Valve is advertising it as "Coming to SteamOS" I think the money probably does go to the porters (at least if you don't play it on windows). Don't quote me on that, it's just a hunch.

14 Steam Machines Revealed At GDC, Some Thoughts
5 Mar 2015 at 10:42 am UTC Likes: 2

Quoting: MetallinatusThe most expensive ones are costing $399 if I'm not mistaken, so yes, it will be a tough competition for the Steam Machines :dizzy:
Not really, you save a lot of money on games. So although the initial prize may be higher, on the long run you're saving money with a Steam box. Plus you can play them on your computer, and on future generations of the "console".
The only competition the Steam box really has IMO is computers. And that's not a problem for Valve, anyone playing on a computer probably buys from them anyway. It is however a problem for the companies making steam boxes...

So steamy, I like it.

Lots Of Big Games Confirmed For SteamOS, Torchlight II Now Out, Payday 2, Mordor And More Coming Too

I have nearly all of the games on that page, except the pre-order ones. It's sad that I won't be able to give money to Torchlight, Payday, SaintsRow, Rome & CoH...
Promised myself I wouldn't pre-order anything (only thing I every pre-ordered was BL:TPS, because that was the first big day one Linux launch, and I really wanted to thank them), but I'll definitely be buying the new Witcher, Shadow of Mordor, Attila, Cities and Batman at some point after they are released on Linux.
Really excited about the GDC habbenings.
Vulkan, Valve, Unreal, Unity, ...

whoever said last year was linux year was wrooong

Airships: Conquer The Skies Released On Steam For Linux, It’s Fun
1 Mar 2015 at 9:34 pm UTC

I have the game, and although it is certainly fun, I feel like it is in a very early state; the game randomly does not allow me to click any buttons until I restart the game, the combat feels very clumsy.
The ship editor is great, no complaints there.
Just a warning

Dota 2 Managed To Hit Over 1 Million Players
18 Feb 2015 at 3:54 pm UTC

A few of my friends were complaining about always ending up in matches with russians (who could barely speak english), turns out Dota 2 had selected russian servers for them by default, after changing the settings it got a lot better.
As someone also mentioned a few posts ago: use the mute button.
