This proton release feels like magic, games that ran at 10 fps or lower and was not playable for me at all, all of a sudden runs better then native linux versions of the games, I guess it was a Nvidia thing, now everything runs great. I can all of a sudden run deathstranding at 4k and never drop below 60 fps, I used to run it at 1080p to be able to not drop below 60. And thats without fsr. Last epoch was running at like 10 fps with proton, now it runs a little better then the native version, and mutch mutch smoother then the native version.

Well FSR is actually what I was needing aparently. I have to slow computer to run most games at 4k, but since I game on a 4k tv those games look very blurry at lower resolution. But now with FSR those games look very sharp at lower resolutions, so for me FSR is super great, best thing that happend to linux gaming for a long while. Not to mention the speed boosts in the new Dxvk is making my games smoother then ever.

Wow biggest improvement so far in games, its doing some magic, never had such smooth gameplay since I started playing on linux. With the newest proton ge, but the improvement has to come from this dxvk. Always had alot of micro lag and big fps drops but now its buttery smooth in most games.

Fun too see that kde is so popular for gaming its even passed gnome, I normally use xfce for the best game performance, however with gnome 40, gnome is just as fast for gaming as xfce, so I switched to that.

Quoting: pbWell its an arch based distro so you can install anything that's available to arch if you unlock it, I think the command was fzrz unlock or something like that.Quoting: pbI will probably try this on my old machine, but before I erase SteamOS  , can anyone confirm that Stadia and GeForceNow work fine on GamerOS with xbox controllers? I couldn't get them to work in SteamOS' browser, I guess it's too old.I'll answer myself. It's not possible to use Stadia or GFN on GamerOS, because, like SteamOS, it only has the internal Steam browser, with no way to install Chrome or Chromium, so neither of the services work. My overall experience with installation and 3h usage of GamerOS has been rather terrible, worse than SteamOS anyway. With the system being read-only I had no way of modifying any launch settings, such as mounting another disk, where I have all the games installed. I'm sure it's better than SteamOS in subtle ways, such as newer drivers and more games working, thanks to compositor fixes (like Dead Cells), but for me it's fundamentally broken, it might have been the first way I had a worse experience with a Linux distro than with Windows.
