Favorite franchise getting more and more mature ! I hope i'll get some time to play again...
I sunk 800hours on the X3:terran conflict+albion prelude ( same game for me )
I enjoyed the new x4 quite a bit just exploring, but I did not played very deep in fear of not being able to start my business xD

I don't like debian and debian based distributions, but I must say that's good to see !
Debian is a very large part of the user base, so it will influence future development toward gaming support which will improve the experience of users and thus growing the user base on the long run.
I'm all for it ! Just more love for RPM based distributions would be nice x)

Like Bumadar said, this is VERY bad and i'll go further than him.
Remember the x86 license war against china to make them unable to produce or own x86 chips ?
Now that ARM is a US license, what will allow the US the revoke any ARM or x86 license to leverage decision against ANY country in the world ?
The US already threaten countries all around the globe with their dollars, now they can threaten with x86 and arm licenses to prevent countries to get super computer even for research. In Europe we're already very wary of the US expansionism.
That's the kind of move that will make open architecture like RISC V but also MIPS and others really worth investing. At least in Europe we have STM who studies RISC V and uses MIPS ( or a derivative of MIPS ) for micro controllers on top of ARM.
( I'm using and programming micro controllers in electronic projects as a hobby and I was looking for info about a european manufacturer if there was one, it's franco-italian from what I know, maybe i'll buy some stocks just in case )

The example of bloodbowl is relevant here.
Bloodbowl use dices and it uses a pregenerated lost of dice results. Online games quickly saw the use of software to watch those dice lists.
If you add encryption to those lists, it will hit performances... Not critical on turn based games, but that still is some overhead on the CPU so it will slowdown AI turns...

The first release of startopia was realy bugy.
I remember being a lucky guy with my hardware to be able to play the 1.0 version without too much issues ( still had to reinstall the game and drivers a few times ). Then the patches made things better.
I still install it from my original disc and play the campaign again ! The french voice is really something and convey the humor perfectly !
Too bad there won't be translation and voice over again... But I don't mind that much :) I'm bilingual now playing with so much english titles.

I'll add to the skepticism bucket this small fact:
There are no legal action against the guy from what we know.
And that's the typical signature of false accusation, even more so in Los Angeles. They have pretty good laws against Harassement. Why aren't there any legal action and only twitter bashing ?

Isn't Kotaku known to be biased about issues like racism and such ?
I'd be cautious to use Kotaku as a source on the subject...
I'd even go as far as disregarding them. Thus making this story like that.
I've read part of the senior animator letter, and that's the typical snowflake fake complain when things don't go their way.
Could be true, could be false, but currently, the trend is false accusation everywhere on those peculiar subjects for revenge.

Looks like a nice update even if i'm not fond of UI redesigns.
Some welcomed improvements !
Just have to wait for openSuse tumbleweed to update their packages to enjoy an easier time editing with this software :)

My experiences of Valve's VR on Linux

Then when you start to wlk in the game in a direction, you'll naturally put your weight on the front or back leg, you'll still feel the discomfort but at least, you won't fall because your brain tell your body to.
As for the index and alien isolation, don't know... I don't have this kind of money available, I bought a second hand occulus to experience VR on the cheap 2 years ago ^^

Quoting: bekoSounds like that. One way I found to ease the feeling and not fall while standing ( I almost tripped myself while standing ), is to make a step forward, and stay that way ( don't know how to describe t better in english, i'm french please forgive me xD ). Feet spread not sideway but on the front and the back, like you want to walk.Quoting: ElectroDDConcerning the motion sickness in FPS, I tried alien isolation.Sounds like Space Adaptation Syndrome [External Link]. Does this compare? The description I mean. You've probably also never been to space before :woot:
It's not motion sickness you experience, but the strange feeling that your legs are not moving while you move creating a feeling of weirdness in your brain and you kind of lose sense of orientation and tend to believe you're falling.

It takes some hours (2-3 for me ) to adjust, but after that, really neat experience even though the VR experience is kind of experimental in it, you get the free movement experience non the less.
It was on an occulus rift first gen on windows when I still was running win10.
