Store the project on EU servers.
There was a recent ruling saying that fixing bugs was not a case of copyright infrinment.
Reverse ingeneering is protected under a law in itself to allow interoperability of software on hardware and under this law you can even break DRM to a certain extent.
At least, that's what I understand...

Quoting: scaineQuoting: EikeI have the 16 year badge [External Link] right now, which will turn 17 mid November... but to have an 18 year badge only 2 days after Steam itself turned 18 requires you to have signed up for it practically on the day of its release. It must be incredibly rare.Quoting: ElectroDDI have the 18 years badge...Do you happen to know how rare that is?

I was playing on windows counter-strike since beta 5.0 ( a time where dual berettas and automatic sniper rifles were not in the game ).
PLayed a lot of CS 1.5 and 1.6 on steam ( day one steam account ).
It's only recently that i migrated fully to linux ^^( almost exclusively, there still are some games i can't play on linux )

From what I remember, there was a bug preventing people to play the game. Common enough to force an update ( and at the time, there was no internet, you had to by magazines with CDs to get patches ), long loading time crashing the launch, graphic problems making a black screen...
I had the chance to have a configuration which had few problems, but the game was pretty unstable vanilla. It ran without issues after the second update.
That said, we're all a lot older, playing the old startopia is enjoyable because of nostalgia. I have'nt played new startopia yet, but I'll buy it eventually and play it.
I already sense that the humor isn't as good as the first one from the trailers. Probably because of SJW non-sense abuot race or offensive jokes or whatever they find to get angry ( the only races I know are with cars, motorbikes and idiot going in circle for fame and money, if you're offended by what I just wrote, you lack the famous sense of humor my friend ! Sue me :) )
I'll see for myself.

When I said Space opera manager, that's because the game at some point becomes so big, you just become aware that you should sit in a carrier and manage everything from there, and just jump where you want to make something by hand or there's an emergency.
You check if your trade ships are doing there things, if you station complexes are earning money, you then expand your communication network to get real time information, you set patrols...
You manage more than you actually play first hand !
And the best part is, you unroll your plan in a sector, you give your orders, and then you jump in said sector to see how it unfold and chill looking at all that buzz you created in orbit or some planet with a nice tune.
At least, that's how I end up and enjoy the game :D

I've played some missions of the campaign, there are real quality of life mechanics compared to pharaoh !
Graphics are really nice.
I had to use proton to play on one of my system ( i5 2600 gtx 970 opensuse ) or it wouldn't start, main system native game works perfectly ( r5 2600 gtx 1070Ti opensuse tumbleweed ).
I like the micro-management I have access to, at the moment, it's a good purchase for me :)

The main component of any X game, is trading, then exploring, then fighting and if you care, a bit of questing.
It's more a space opera manager if you want ^^

Quoting: ChuckaluphagusThe reviews for X4 upon its initial release were ... well, bad, frankly. Has it improved enough with updates that it's fun to play?X games are not combat oriented. It is a big component, but it is lack luster even if in X4 it is a bit better ( subsystem targetting and destroying, but not as detailed as freespace )
Since that's a very subjective question, I should give context: Freespace 2 (FS2Open) is still my top space sim of all time; I've recently been playing a ton of the original Everspace in an attempt to beat final ending before delving into Everspace 2; I loved every single Wing Commander game back in the day; and I think I-War and I-War 2 deserved much more acclaim than they got.
Can anyone here currently playing X4 give an opinion?

Last I tried I got tons of error in the console and there was no real solution. Then X4 got released and it went X4.
But I still need to finish X3:TC ( after 800hours ).
I'll try again when I have time.

Need to check about X3:Terran conflict...
There still are games i'd like to see running... Mainly chinese and japanese games.
