being killed => reloading is rarely if ever fun.
teasing horror is >>>>> jump scares / zombies / etc. ie actually interacting with it.
too bad it seems only a few game designers adhere to this simple (and tbh the only viable) strategy.

so that's what they've been up to.. a tad disappointed, bc of the three games Amnesia came the least to my liking. But oh well, guess have to get it anyway. These guys been too good to not to. After all SOMA couldn't have a meaningful sequel anyways, guess I'd prefer a game in the Penumbra universe, or a whole new world from them.

Maybe by that time they'll add the actual things that make survival possible - means of orientation (some actual maps, not the crap they have in the original release/wintermute), means of transportation (sleds, skis, and a super-sikrit snowmobile)) and the possibility to actually use some weapon rather than trying to ignite the (were-)wolves hide with a flare gun / shooting a civil-war era rifle aiming which feels like trying to shoot from a 50-pound wooden log
Oh not to mention the whole survival mechanics
And VERY PREFERRABLY move the thing to some sane engine like UE4

Got fondest memories of the first one. Never played the second installment cos I think my rig back in 2002 would have hard time pulling off those HI-Res supah-detailed backgrounds... or for some other reasons. And in a couple of years I went to Uni and switched to Linux.. Just 20-odd yrs to catch up :shock:
