Quoting: DrMcCoyHeh, seems like GitHub can't cope with old Mac line endings (\r, instead of \n on Unix or \r\n on Windows): https://github.com/NightDiveStudios/shockmac/blob/master/ShockMac/Mac%20Src/DialogHelpers.h [External Link]. Conventional wisdom does say that files should be checked into git with Unix line endings and converted on check-out, though.Huhu, there are already 2 pull requests about that. I wonder how willing to accept contributions they are.

I am really pleased by this, but I will probably wait until the cryptocurrency craze is over to buy a new GPU capable of playing it ;)
That said, I started the campaign on Xbox 360. Is there any way to carry the save files over?

Valve to open source 'GameNetworkingSockets' to help developers with networking, Steam not required

Quoting: NarcotixI read that as Steamworks requires Steam, not the other way around (Steam doesn't require Steamworks).Quoting: ShmerlNot to release Linux versions on GOG is something developers do, according to GOG incorrectly. But until now, Steamworks required Steam to function, so that prevented developers from releasing games in other stores. Not the same issue. As far is I know this is simply not true! As a dev you CAN use Steamworks but you don't have to, for this exact same reason Steam is to be considered DRM-agnostic.

Wow, that's nice. I could see that used a lot, even in open source games, and the license should allow for external contributions without signing a CLA.
If you can, please support GamingOnLinux

Quoting: TcheyHo nice ! I will cancel my Patreon and give via Liberapay instead. You will get more even if i pay the same amount.Yes, less transaction fees, plus Liberapay is a nonprofit, which is a much better fit, IMHO.

Yeah... I really am not into card games myself, so VALVe or not, I am going to pass this one ;)
Nice to see them going back into the game, though.

I had this feeling of déjà vu: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/articles/classic-flash-game-the-majesty-of-colors-is-being-remastered-and-will-release-on-linux.8144
The game looks nice, but I am used to get a lot of content, even at such a low price point, and given that I don't play that much anymore, I probably won't pick up this one before a sale.
It's nice they are doing a remaster, though. There would definitely be some great value to a bundle of curated flash games remakes :)
Other great former flash games include n++, the binding of Isaac, super meat boy, etc.

I had no time to read the press releases, but Arstechnica mentioned the fact that the same was happening for vulkan over DX12, which would open up the Xbox and Microsoft Store to Vulkan as well.

The portable subset will also soon be able to target another platform: DirectX 12. Expected within the next few months, a similar translation layer is being developed that will enable Vulkan applications to use a DirectX 12 back-end. While Windows, unlike macOS, does have Vulkan drivers from GPU companies, applications sold through the Microsoft Store are only permitted to use DirectX. Already today, some Store applications use ANGLE—an implementation of OpenGL ES that runs on top of DirectX—so that their developers can use a cross-platform graphics API. The Vulkan layer will enable the same for software that uses the high performance, low-level GPU API.And from the press release:
The Khronos Vulkan Portability Initiative continues to refine and define a universally portable subset of Vulkan 1.0 that can be run at native performance levels over Metal and DirectX 12 drivers.
The Vulkan Portability Initiative will continue to strengthen the infrastructure and tooling around bringing Vulkan capabilities to multiple Metal and DX12 platforms - our long-term goal is to enable portable Vulkan code to be executed on any platform that developers care about.

Quoting: GuestIt is W40k. That's basically a strategy setting overall - and most (not all, of course) of the games that GW license out are turn-based as well. I suspect it's to align with the board gaming. So it's not surprising that a GW licensed game is turn-based strategy.I would like to see a spacemarine port as well at some point, maybe a wine port of sorts, but I'd like to be able to finish this game!
It is nice to see something from a different perspective of sorts: an Admech game could be quite interesting.
