Storm United Massive Online FPS Gearing Up For Early Access

You can be forgiven if you forgot all about Storm United, as we haven't covered it in some time! Storm United is a socially driven class based massively multiplayer First Person Shooter on top of an omnipresent clan foundation. Start your journey by choosing a recruiting clan, no players are left behind.

We spoke to the developers some time ago and it was using Unity, but they switched to Unreal Engine, so we can expect much better performance.

They are hoping for a first release of their Unreal Engine FPS around the 23rd of December on Steam.

We do have a number of shooters available on Linux, but we don't have many MMO-class games, and it looks like Storm United could fill the void for a lot of us.

The early access release will come with 5 game modes, 6 maps, a vehicle, clan features, cross-server chat, and many more features. They plan to add lots more as they work on it during early access too, so it has us very excited here.

You can see some videos here showing what you can expect, and it looks fab:

The developers also mentioned they will pop us a few keys at release, so expect us to be able to cover it properly! You will need to buy it during early access, but once complete it will be free 2 play with cosmetic items purchasable, so no pay 2 win features. That's the type of thing we can get into bed with!

About the game
Storm United is a socially driven class based massively multiplayer First Person Shooter on top of an omnipresent clan foundation. Start your journey by choosing a recruiting clan, no players are left behind.

The clan's personal headquarter will serve you as a central communication hub where you can chat and get the latest news on the clan's objectives and victories while also being a place where you'll build useful infrastructures in a similar way strategy games works.

Get ready to wage war with other clans for resources on a globally shared intergalactic map. Build and break alliances, research or spy for technologies and produce new weapons and gear.

In addition to the ongoing galactic war, organised tournaments and events give you one more opportunity to prove your ultimate supremacy. Article taken from GamingOnLinux.com.

You're welcome.

Haha you are absolutely right, man I'm tired! I'll pay more attention next time :D

What I find encouraging is the fact that developers are porting their games directly to Linux. Not going through a MAC version first, then Linux.

It's not an absolute but it's happening more and more often.

It feels like Linux is starting to get really attractive for developers.

Looks pretty awsome. Very different than the shooters currently available on linux. This would be a good change of pace from CSGO and TF2.
