Wine 3.7 is now available with improved viewport support in Direct 3D.

By - | Views: 11,172

The Wine team has put out another regular build, with Wine 3.7 being released to the masses yesterday.

Here's the general highlights of Wine 3.7:

  • MSI custom actions run in a separate process.
  • Support for job files in the Task Scheduler.
  • Improved viewport support in Direct 3D.
  • Larger resolution version of the standard icons.
  • Various bug fixes.

Not exactly huge stuff here this time around, but in regards to bug fixes they noted 26 were squashed, although not all were fixed specifically in this release as some are older bugs getting checked off. They noted issues solved in Black and White, World of Warcraft, Fallout 4, Age of Empires II HD and more.

Has some time that I used Wine, 1.9 I guess. Can someone say if this version works with Origin?

For me origin works fine, I used the Battlefield 1 and 4 scripts. Also on Winehq there are guides.

I don't really like lutris, though. Somehow I find it messy and usually prefer to maintain/install prefixes by myself. And it's not so important anyway, I would use it to play Mass Effect saga only and have played them several times, I can wait more until next time I really want to re-play them.

Thanks though!
