ProtonUp-Qt adds support for Wine manager app Bottles

By - | Views: 19,664

ProtonUp-Qt, the fantastic tool to help you install various community builds of Wine and Proton like GE-Proton or Wine-GE on Linux and Steam Deck just added support for the Bottles application.

For those who haven't used it - Bottles helps you install and manage various Windows-only applications including other launchers like Epic Games, Ubisoft, GOG, Origin and more. This is now in addition to ProtonUp-Qt already supporting Steam, Lutris and Heroic.

The main changes for this new release include:

  • Added support for Bottles
  • Add Proton-Tkg Steam compatibility tool
  • Bug fixes and minor improvements

Want to know how to use it? Check out my previous guide.

This is good. For whatever reason the Wine-GE versions are weeks out of date in Bottles.

I'm so happy about the Bottles integration that I donated my first euro to the project, here.
