By - | Views: 31,693

Want to pick up some more great games for Steam Deck (or your Linux desktop!)? Fanatical have put up another bundle with all games that are Steam Deck Verified.

You can pick up 3 for £4.99, 5 for £6.99 or 8 for £9.99. There's 16 games in total, so it's more of a pick what you want kind of thing.

Games in the list includes:

  • Blasphemous
  • NUTS
  • Blacksad: Under the Skin
  • Intravenous
  • Golf Club Wasteland
  • FAR: Lone Sails
  • Door Kickers: Action Squad
  • Morbid: The Seven Acolytes
  • Speed Limit
  • 198X
  • Horizon Chase Turbo
  • Yooka-Laylee and the Impossible Lair
  • Styx: Master of Shadows
  • American Fugitive
  • Mordheim: City of the Damned
  • Who's Your Daddy

Not a bad selection to pick through, with some really quality titles like Blasphemous, Horizon Chase Turbo and Intravenous all being pretty great.

We're also a fresh Fanatical affiliate from today, so buying using our links helps us.

See the full bundle here.

Thanks for putting this one up, Liam! And congratulations on becoming a Fanatical affiliate - I buy from there relatively often, and will be glad to use GOL's links to do so going forward.

Just a quick note on the Fanataical links - if you're running a PiHole on default settings, you'll have to whitelist www.anrdoezrs.net and www.emjcd.com. This is similar to the issue faced with GOG affiliation, which used track.adtraction.com.

Also, uBlock Origin will complain about the first URL, but that's easily overriden/allowed by buttons on the block page, so less of an issue.

Sounds to me like those things are doing their job in preventing unnecessary tracking. I see no reason to change that.

Well... sure? They're tracking the payment to Liam's account in this case though. Up you, of course. I wasn't suggesting that we should all do this, I was just pointing out the easiest route to help support GOL financially.

It's a shame so many affiliate links use tracking methods though. Also a shame that Steam doesn't offer an affiliate scheme - there would be decent money in that, I'd think!

I'm sure they're at least attempting to track a whole lot more than that. In fact, I suspect that this is the way their now trying to fund this whole thing. Because why would a store go trough all the trouble of using an external company when they still have to collect all the data themselves? I don't trust any of the schemes at all and each of those domains gets a full block. It's unfortunate that I can't use the links anymore, but to me these links are no better than tracked ads.

All I can tell you is that neither of those domains existed in over 3 months of PiHole logs until I tried the link above today... so hopefully you're over-reacting in this case. But again, no judgement from me, Ehvis. I see that you already support the site as a Supporter Plus, as do I. There are lots of ways to support GOL and if affiliate links cross the line in the sand you marked for tracking, that's understandable.

Now that yall mention support for GOL, i think i'll go browser for some nice shirt from the store https://gamingonlinux.myspreadshop.co.uk/

Well unfortunately I don't have the vast resources of the likes of IGN, and if I want GOL to keep growing and keep being able to cover everything, extra funding is simply a must. The same deal for any site that isn't the top 1% of gaming traffic, for reference even the likes of Gamespot, Eurogamer and other much bigger than us websites use the same Fanatical affiliate program.

It is a shame that many stores don't do it directly and I understand the concerns. Honestly, if Steam had an affiliate thing I could probably just remove all the others since 99% of what I cover is on Steam.

Thanks for this. When at Fanatical I sometimes 'fear' ending up filling my cart with tons of 7/10s that are really more like 5.5/10s. But with a bit of research, I got some fun, little diversions for the Deck. Though be warned: Far Lone Sails lives up to it's name and really makes you squint to see anything on the Deck.

They're already running this one over two domains. No way to know how many more they have. But as you say, there are choices for support. Can't keep nice things if we don't pay something for it, so it must be done. I highly prefer to pay them with money instead of ... myself. I could have a plugin rewrite the URLs I suppose, but I'll probably be too lazy. :)

Affiliate stuff is generally meant as a store ad. Steam doesn't really need that at all since everybody know where to find them. So no reason for them to put effort in it.

Considering the owners, it's funny that humble and egs seem to still be the ones to keep it all in house.
