GOG, originally Good Old Games, has now been running for 15 years! They're celebrating with a big sale, new releases and a giveaway so here's all the details.

Firstly the giveaway is for The Night of the Rabbit, a story-driven exploration/adventure from Matthias Kempke and Daedalic Entertainment. You can claim a free copy until Monday, September 25th, 1 PM UTC.

They've also released three classic titles from Quantic Dream:

Some of the classic deals they have going includes:

The whole sale event lasts until October 2nd, 2023, at 10 PM UTC.

Just as a reminder you may find the Heroic Games Launcher makes managing GOG games on Linux / Steam Deck much nicer than manual downloads.

I remember The Night of the Rabbit getting really weird towards the end, but enjoying it overall.

Quoting: SalvatosI remember The Night of the Rabbit getting really weird towards the end, but enjoying it overall.
What surprises me about this is that a game called "The Night of the Rabbit" wasn't really weird from the beginning.

I have such a soft spot for Indigo Prophecy. I remember the demo blowing me away back in the day with how you could do many different or little things that had an impact on how the story presented itself. It kinda went way off the rails after halfway and felt like it hit the ending rather abruptly, but overall I really did enjoy that game.

As a bonus, it is actually the first non Valve game I bought on Steam!

The list of visual novels on sale that allow you to play with the original Japanese script:

I already own most of these, but maybe I'll pick up Amairo Chocolate? How could I resist with a description like this:

QuoteVisual novel adv featuring cute girls with animal ears and tails
Yeah, well...maybe I'll finish Sutekano and a year of springs first. Followed by Hatsuyuki Sakura, Aiyoku no Eustia, and DRACU-RIOT. Then, maybe H2O?

I don't think I have an excuse to buy new games for another 5 years...

Crysis is great, but why wouldn't the other two entries be on GOG too (classics, not remasters, mind you)?

Oh, right. EA's stupid launcher.

FYI - I couldn't get Night of the Rabbit to work last winter with current proton... sounds issues. It does appear to work under the much older 3.x proton branch out of the box.

I grabbed Beyond: Two Souls for $11 CDN. The first screenshot I clicked showed Willem Dafoe, and I recognized him instantly.

So, sold :-)

(It also looks like a nice story game)
