GUNHEAD from Alientrap gets Steam Deck improvements

By - | Views: 24,914

GUNHEAD is the latest release from Alientrap who also made CRYPTARK, Capsized and Wytchwood. It's also just been updated to improve it on Steam Deck.

What is GUNHEAD? It's technically a sequel to CRYPTARK but with a new perspective as a fast paced strategic roguelike FPS where you take the role of a pirate mech with a gun for a head, looting derelict spaceships filled with monstrous drones made out of bone and steel.

In a recent patch they announced:

We've updated to 1.44 - focused on better Steam Deck support.

- Will default to 130% UI scale for Steam Deck
- Better scaling of the UI for different UI scales
- Larger fonts (inventory, license station)

Seems like a good time for me to jump in and take a look! Check out the launch trailer below:

Well, it's visually interesting. Like, the enemies are weird and cool looking, but the environment is something a bit different too--not one of these "endless sterile corridors" kind of things.

They also made Nexuiz, which was forked into Xonotic.
