Elden Pixels who previously made Alwa's Awakening and Alwa's Legacy, and who are also working on A Void Hope also just announced The Prisoning: Fletcher's Quest. Looks and sounds like a good one for classic metroidvania fans here!

"The Prisoning: Fletcher’s Quest is a procedurally generated metroidvania where you enter a game developer’s mental prison after an intense project (totally based on a real story). Take control of his dream persona Fletcher, a slightly overweight 43 year old divorcee, craft beer enthusiast and cowboy hat-wearer and escape the mental prison to save the day!"

Features:

Progress through randomized levels.

Defeat or befriend gang leaders.

Upgrade weapons, defeat bosses, find collectibles and all that jazz.

You can follow The Prisoning: Fletcher's Quest on Steam.

It will release in 2024 with Native Linux support just like their previous games.

Will be a no brainer.
So far every single title from them was ace.

Not to mention the lovelya and awesome NES port of Alwa's Awakening, that left me speechless.
