For those wondering about Godot's XR support: out of the big three engines, it has probably the best tooling ([Godot XR Tools](https://github.com/GodotVR/godot-xr-tools) provides everything a beginner XR developer needs to get started making an XR game quickly) and [the best OpenXR support](https://github.khronos.org/OpenXR-Inventory/client_extension_support.html), but perhaps the worst performance, as Meta and Pico communicate with the other two commercial engines regularly and leave Godot in the dark about any API changes.
You absolutely can get the same performance by hacking into the Rendering Server, but it's quite advanced and not recommended for beginners.
