Valve update Proton Hotfix for ARC Raiders compatibility on Linux / SteamOS

Recently we covered the extraction shooter ARC Raiders breaking on Linux for a lot of players due to the new Denuvo Anti-Cheat - and now it should work again. Not everyone actually has Denuvo Anti-Cheat yet as plenty still have Easy Anti-Cheat since it's a staged rollout.

Valve did update the bleeding-edge opt-in Beta of Proton Experimental for it, but that's a bit of a nuisance workaround (and now everyone knows about it). Much better now though, as Valve updated the special Proton Hotfix branch and set it as the default for ARC Raiders.

So with that change, you should be good to go on ARC Raiders again on Linux / SteamOS without needing to do anything at all but ensure Proton Hotfix is up to date.

Nice to see Valve developers react pretty quickly for a popular game like this. You can see more about anti-cheat compatibility on our dedicated page. It's still one of the most problematic areas for gaming on Linux.

That's a really good thing that Embark (and Valve) acted quickly
