Title: Cannot install mono-runtime libmono2.0-cil
jura 7 Jun 2017
I'm trying to install Unturned server using this guide [https://github.com/RocketMod/R…rned/Scripts/Linux/README](https://github.com/RocketMod/R…rned/Scripts/Linux/README) In it says that I need to install mono-runtime libmono2.0-cil using following command apt install mono-runtime libmono2.0-cil but when I enter it I get following error
Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable distribution that some required packages have not yet been created or been moved out of Incoming. The following information may help to resolve the situation: The following packages have unmet dependencies: libmono2.0-cil : Depends: libmono-system-web2.0-cil (>= 2.10.3) but it is not going to be installed E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

I also tried to apt-get update and apt-get upgrade.

seem like your mono-runtime is more recent (check with 'mono -V' ) have you tried installing the latest version of the libmono-cil package?

mine isn't numbered;

$ sudo apt search libmono-cil
p   libmono-cil-dev                 - Mono Base Class Libraries (BCL) - Developm

If you need to install specifically mono 2.0 then I believe you will have to muck about with chroot

Can you help solve this problem, because my friends are waiting me for few days now to setup our own server.

I dont know anything about the specific program your trying to install, I suggest creating an Issue on their git hub.

Btw the link in your original post is broken

Okay I found out [here](https://github.com/RocketMod/Rocket/wiki/Fixing-issues-on-Linux) that I need to install (downgrade) mono to the version 3.12.1, but I can't find it for Debian 8.
Also forum post shortened link, [here](https://github.com/RocketMod/Rocket.Unturned/blob/master/Rocket.Unturned/Scripts/Linux/README) is vaild one.

Googling "debian downgrade mono v3" lead me to https://askubuntu.com/a/908045/586733
in about 3 clicks

now what consequenses it may have for your system to run his massive select mono 3.12 command here; https://gist.githubusercontent.com/ruaridhw/b00e75647c8e96c2f44044c970f19c7f/raw/7fd70502e282baa03cefd075812d56c893fb3518/install-mono-3_12.sh

I can't possibly say - but I would definitively make sure my back up was current before doing any such thing.
