Quoting: GuestIf you check the stages at Monaco where there are snow parts and you can go through banks where you can't do anything just watch the "game/stage ending" animation.

And then go to Greece and you can freely go down and nothing happens, and you get a "so realistic" 15 second penalty and the game places your car back on the road. There is nothing realistic in it. In fact these off-road adventures would probably cost minutes in real life and probably a DNF, because of the damages to the car.
So, are you arguing that the game is too easy in Greece, or that it's too punishing in Monaco? It's not very consistent and not even close to perfectly realistic, that's true. Maybe Dirt Rally 2 (you hear me Codemasters?) will improve on this. Although I think this game has a pretty good balance of simulation and fun. Too much realism might not be desirable, IMHO.

In any case, these seem like design problems more than bugs, but that's neither here nor there if you don't enjoy the game anymore. Thanks for participating!

Monaco has a few places where it will "fail" you when you have barely two wheels over the edge. I haven't seen those in Greece. He may be referring to that.

Yeah I know. It has happened to me a couple of times as well. As I wrote before:
Quoting: tuubiIt does sometimes kick in a bit too early, when you haven't still quite gone over.
If I had thought of making a note of the exact place this happens and could reproduce it, I'd send a bug report to Codemasters.

UK - not completed yet, had some visitors to come over, so i managed to run 3 stages. Will update if i drive the rest of them.

Can't seem to match the Lancia S4 guys, even if i didn't do those mistakes.

Summary:
S1: Small crash into the ditch (~4 sec lost before i got back to the road)
S2: Spin
S3: Crash into Trees (~4 sec to reverse and start going again)
S4: Clean, but very slow in places
S5: Huge crash at the last sector, puncture, otherwise i was really flatout on this one
S6: Clean
S7: Clean

My driving was anything but perfect, but Wales was fun and I'm really happy with the result once again. I just love the way the Manta glides around corners. Wrangling these powerful RWD cars is all about throttle control, and for that I'm seriously considering selling a few internal organs to pay for a decent wheel and pedal setup. My trigger finger just isn't up to the job.

Thanks for the tip. I've seen second-hand Logitech wheels available for about 50 euros before. Haven't been in a position to put that much money into anything gaming related in ages, but things are looking up. I'll think about buying a set in a few months.

I might want to go for something with better pedals than the Driving Force GT though. I've only tested them quickly on someone's PS3, but they felt a bit flimsy. Still, better than a gamepad I'm sure.
Xpander 12 Nov 2017
yeah... if you can get your hands on G25 or 27, it sure will be better. DFGT gets the job done though, its made from cheap parts, but i haven't had issues so far. Would be nice to have a clutch though, DFGT has only break and acceleration pedals.

First post updated. Germany Next. Thisone i will go with 4WD i think and the rest of the gravel ones back to Manta :D

Feel pretty good about my Germany run. Had a few spins in the earlier stages, and generally some flimsy braking at some of the sharper turns, but made up for it with better runs in the last three.
Skully 15 Nov 2017
Germany went mostly ok. I did the majority of one stage with a missing tyre wich certainly doesn't help lol. Still using controller, as I found the steering wheel too annoying to setup/put away. So until i can set it up at another desk permanently, I wont bother with it.
Xpander 15 Nov 2017
I did Terrible in Germany. I don't get the Tarmac, i always lock the breaks too much :)

anyway i dunno how i managed to win thisone. edit: ok muell beat me anyway, those times all are so close though :)

S1: Crash into trees
S2: Crash into stones
S3: Clean
S4: Spin with reverse needed
S5: Crash into stones, after i saw deer running over the road :)
S6: Clean
S7: Clean

Basically a crash at each stage before reaching s4, from that point onward all clean

Germany done. I knew I wouldn't do well against the 4-wheel-drives here, but at least I had fun. :)

I took a stab at a grippy setup and drove the Opel like a proper street car, and at least on the dry stages it seemed to work pretty well. I think I was only a couple of seconds slower than the fastest Lancia on the night stage.
Xpander 20 Nov 2017
First post updated.... Finally back to gravel :) Back to Manta as well :P
Xpander 21 Nov 2017
Damn Manta is way too bouncy for Finland stages. Even though i managed to tweak the setup so it wont bounce that much i was still constantly struggling with understeer when it bounced after a big jump.
tried to make dampers firm but then after each harder jump i lost a tire. so i set front dampers a bit softer and rear ones to firm side, that was the best i could do to reduce bouncing. Wasn't too fun to drive like that...

anyway ..Summary:

S1: spin with reverse needed
S2: crash into stones with the rear of the car which forced me to spin
S3: clean
S4: spin on the 90° turn
S5: clean
S6: crash into the trees with the front, because of understeer after jump
S7: huge roll on the straight after jumps, found myself in the forest, reversed out.
